Blu I did not get notifications of your PMs but just found them. I called your mobile but not answering. Left a message Cannot help with anywhere today (Sun) but maybe tomorrow I can call our commercial garage here in Katowice, who may know of somewhere. What engine is it starting? But do follow up the advice re the Earth Strap, as I could bet that if the starter has progressively been causing problems then the Earth could well have been gradually corroding and causing a loss of voltage in the circuit. Geoff P.S. Have you got jump leads - or coulr you borrow some? If so connect one end to the engine block and the other to somewhere on the chassis as an alternative to the Earth Strap and then try the starter again. Another trick is to loosen off, half a turn, the nut on the end of the starter which hold the rotating shaft in place - they used to bind on the Minis I had. Also do both, because if the shaft is binding a bit and you are losing some voltage there might not be enough umphf to turn it. Done the earth strap found it took it off looks quite new to be honest but cleaned it up anyway. Stripped the starter out and cleaned all the cables etc Checked the voltage and all ok at the solenoid but I get nothing when I arch the cables re that link so I defo think it's the s tarter :-( the only thing I can't check is the ignition but I am positive it's not that :-(, Strange I have not had any missed calls

I have spoken to Blu - on the right number this time.
He seems to have gone through all suggested fault finding but still no start.
I shall be calling our commercial garage in Katowice tomorrow to see if they can suggest where in Krakow he can get an exchange/new starter.
Watch this space.

Now we find out the answer to the question....how many poles does it take to hold down and get a Scotsman to pay for a starter motor.
😆

And if you find some beefy lads, be sure to get their details and pass it on to Tuggers. He likes a beefy Pole.
