Checked today on hookup and looks like the van battery is not charging. The reading I am getting is 12.5./ I understand that it should read 13/14 when charging. Would it be the split charger, assuming I have one?

Did you take the reading across the battery terminals?

Did you take the reading across the battery terminals? Yes, is it better to do + terminal and earth on the body?

There is usually a fuse near the Van and Hab batteries, usually 2 amp. It is part of the charging circuit. Check all your fuses anyway.

Or the vans internal chargers knackered or been turned off. I had to replace mine ones but it does have a switch on it so if you just happened to poke around under the wardrobe with a long stick you could accidentally switch it off.

Joe
Have you checked that your EHU has not tripped - are the 13amp sockets in the MH live? Does your charger charge the engine battery as well? If so what voltage is showing there?

Sockets are live on hook up, it is the engine battery I am asking about Geoff. I does charge from an independent charger so I know the battery is OK. When it gets a bit warmer I will check the fuses.

Joe if the deco valve is loose on the terminal it may be tripping the amp drainer on the lithium battery ... Try to overlay the relay circuit with a 24V undercurrent and then test for dry lining on the circuit propagator ... Should read 13/14 as I had the same problem ... If not do you have a lump hammer

I got an email saying this site is helpful if you have a motorhome problem, more fake news.

If you emptied the van I bet the door was open for a long time and all the electricity just flowed out. You wouldn't notice, it's silent, odourless and invisible except for that single puff of smoke at the beginning which we recently learned about. Very crafty.

Joe ignore the other twats here, but Big Ballicks is right. To suss out where the electrickery went just use the Schrodinger equation below, it's prolly in your rear locker, you need a positive mind to capture it any negative waves will short it out, good luck. Thank goodness you posted that explanation, Pablo... I was beginning to get confuserised. It's all become clear to me now. And good advice to be careful when opening the rear locker in case it all escapes... An' they reckon we're all twats on here. Huh!
