So this must be under Mechanical and Technical mustn't it Now then Ray, show this to Pru, praps not on this forum, might be best on the other one, you don't want her to know you mix with barmpots now do we. Neither Hans or I like the heat and today its a killer. I did the usual thing, As the sun went round closed everything on the sunny side and opened the windows shady side. We have 2 Big Fans running flat out (noisy blinking things). After lunch our usual rest, but before this I closed ALL windows and doors, closed blinds and curtains, temp outside 34.4° temp inside 30.2° left fans on. We had our rest, about an hour Temperature outside is now outside 35.3° inside 29.1°I think this proves when it is extremely hot outside, keep it out.

The French (as usual) have got this dealing with the heat sorted.
They have thick wooden or insulated shutters that stay closed on the sunny side of the house all day. They're better than curtains, 'cos the heat is kept out of the house, not allowed in like curtains do.
So if you're having a problem with the heat, Mildew, shutters on the sunny side would be good, if you don't already have them? A portable air-conditioner would be good for you too.
£99.99 please.

We have been through this before not long ago. We have roller blinds as well as thick lined curtains and they cope well in winter and summer. The air conditioning we have been discussing today funny enough. A bit cooler now, it has rained enough to set the road.

Thanks Jan, will do but unless you are a blood relative it's water off the proverbial ducks back. I kept leaving the fridge door open and when questioned pointed it out that it's just as pointless as opening the house door. I just have to keep going round the house 'adjusting' the doors and windows. I wouldn't mind too much but she will open the door and windows and then go work in the garden??
