I bought a colander from Amazon I think it was. It didn't leak because there were no holes in it. But it made a good bowl. Always turn things around to your advantage. A canopy that has holes in it will allow hot air, cooking and body smells to rise up out of harms way when it is not raining. If you really need something waterproof I suggest ordering a few colanders from Amazon and string them together. Bit noisy if it hails but otherwise I cannot speak too highly of them.

I am so glad that I joined here cos if I hadn't I would still be farting around on facts in the crazy belief that awnings should be waterproof, silent and made of a single sheet of plastic.
Thanks fellas

No need for buckets just get a funnel and a length of hose pipe and run the water straight into the water tank filler. If the tank inlet is on the other side of the van add a longer length of black hose laid out on the "sunny" side of the van and you can have hot water as well.
Well you will if it is raining on one side of the van and sunny on the other,

It's no joke - On my Mazda the water drain under the windscreen is connected to the overflow on the neck of the washer fluid tank - I rarely have to fill it with water. In winter I pump out some of the plain water and just add neat antifreeze concentrate.

Excellent, Jumbo.
I was thinking that all the dirty water than runs off his screen goes into the bottle just ready to clog up the jets or put dirty water back on his windscreen

I can assure you that if your nozzle gets clogged you will know all about it.
