don't know why I am asking you gits, but on the of chance I get a good reply here goes....
I had a wee incident with the van over the summer, anyway finally got round to getting it repaired, picked it up last week not to shabby a job but not great either, but when checking it I am like "there is no decals on the side that's been repaired" O yeah we have ordered them and will give you a call etc etc.
Anyway, gets a call on Friday saying that they cant get the original decals for the van but can get a newer version. Only problem is I don't like the newer version so wondering what I might do?
so anyone had this before, way round it? I was thinking about telling them to take all the decals' off and getting my own made up?
ps its a Rimor Katamarano 6, they want to put on Rimor Katamarano 7 decals

You can go to a graphics company (what used to be sign writing companies) and have them made. Printed on sticky backed plastic, just as they were. They will be able to photograph the other side to get the pattern. Have frequently done this for machinery just from a photo. In your case they will need to have your van to get the scale exact. Any decent company will be able to do it.
Buying decals from manufacturers is a mugs game, forget it. They will cost a great deal less the other way. I bet most of the suppliers are having them made as I describe and then charging the earth for them.

£400 from sundown's that's the Rimmor supplier uk, what I was thinking about, design my own graphics and do as you said get a local company to do them for me, but also just tell the repair centre to give me the rimmor one and if I ever want to I will have them.

Ok, I give in to the constant pressure from you.
What I did about 6 years ago was go to Brownhills at Birtley (when they were quiet). I took some photos of the decals on the back of a Laika motorhome. This decal was of running Greyhounds if you know Laika vans.
A friend of a friend used the photo and made up decals of various sizes for my Elddis van. I was careful NOT to have the exact format of Laika (for copyright reasons). I did this because we used to Show the Whippets all over the UK and used the van for this.
So there you have it. Take some photos, tell the signwriter (or whoever) what length they need to be and he will make a set up from a photo.
Hope that helps.
Now piss off.

I can stand on one of the bridges and chuck paving stones at you. Your distinctive colour will make you an easy target.
Whoever you choose to do the decals should have a library of Scottish flags and designs. Put a big photo of the face of Alex Salmond on the back, it will keep drivers well back and avoid rear end collisions.

As the others say, just go to a local graphics/sign makers. If your graphics are the same on both sides, take the van, they will photograph and measure and make you a mirror image of what you have on the other side. They also have a huge colour palette to work with.

Dont bother with all that bollocks! We do our own at Fruitcakes. Fruitcake DecalsI have to admit that they really brightened up my van and now drivers of premium German motorhomes actually salute me when we pass on the road but the price tag was a little on the steep side. May I suggest, therefore, that fellow Fruitcakes get a 10% discount when ordering 2 or more of these wonderful accessories.
