Telephoned at 8am, there is no change from yesterday and they asked I call again this afternoon. It is very difficult for me as you will realise, but I know if Hans was in his right mind he would tell me to do exactly what I am doing. I am at home, my head must rule my heart. 32° today 37° tomorrow, neither Motley nor I could stand that heat in the Navajo. When its cooler later I will go in the car to see Him and Motley can stay at home. It seems when I am there he knows I am there, but as soon as I leave he goes back into this strange world his head is in even when I am there, so hard to explain.

yes you need to be sensible Milly. 37c is dangerously hot and all this will be taking a huge toll on you, you might not be noticing it so much because your body is in some kind of "mission" mode but you cant afford to wear yourself out or put yourself in danger or you will be no use to anyone. Carry on using your head and try and stay cool and safe.

Well that's taken a lot of guilt off my shoulders knowing you think I am doing the right thing. I´ts bloody hot in the house, I have the curtains drawn sunny side and a big fan going which Motley seems to be enjoying at the minute, lying a bit away from it and its blowing his fur. I may have help with Motley when I go back for Friday when its cooler, the ´landlord´ and his wife think he is lovely and Motley seems to like them, so if they will keep him in their nice cool house, where Motley has already been invited into with me, it would only need to be for a couple of hour and I will be more relaxed staying with Hans. I do leave window blinds up on the sunny side of the van and open anything that doesn't have the sun on it, but the sun doesn't stay there (well it does coz we move) but you know what I mean., plus the fact someone very sneaky could get in the van. Did I tell you when I was having a rest yesterday in the shopping centre car park 4 young men came past, one stood on the van steps and asked if he could come in to have a look, I gave him my tough look and said "No clear off" in English. I had the fly screen across, he might have walked straight in if I hadn't. This email arrived not long ago from our professor friend, I am so lucky having forum friends and a friend like Guido who's in the medical profession. Hi Janet, once again: it will all end up good!!! The fact that Hans - in delirium - wanted to mend Your specs as last thing to do in his life left me with tears - it is soooo cute and again one of that so bitterly needed proofs that humans are good. I love that. I will talk to the boys - I know Dr. Hamann good... G

If you have people that are willing to help with Motley etc Milly then take advantage of that but you must not feel guilty at all. You must, MUST! Look after yourself as a priority through all this. It is what Hans would want for sure and your priority right now I think has to be for your own well being and safety as temperatures and your stress levels I would imagine soar. Hans is in the best hands (see what I did there) he could possibly be but nobody but you is looking after you. You cannot control or help really in Hans recovery right now, only the staff at the hospital can do that. Hopefully soon things will turn a corner. Its just a shame your so far away and on your own.

I'm glad I came home to start this Aldi card its taken ages, had to contact the by phone to start with because I couldn´t work out which number they wanted, it kept telling me it was not the right one whichever I used, probably cost me a small fortune to phone its one of those expensive numbers. Then they needed my passport, I could take it to the post office, shit thats 15 or more km away, then I saw it can be done with webcam, so tried that and then it said the connection broke and an operator wold get back to me, within a short time there she were, so I showed my passport to the camera she asked a few question, real hard ones like when I was born, where I live etc. She says it will be usable in the next 24 hours. It is now 32.1° Motley just went out and soon came in again, it´s a bit cooler in the house 28. 8° we are going to have to think about air conditioning.

A bit more information from our prof. friend
Hi Janet, I managed to talk to the head of ICU - all parameter concerning sepsis and heart failure are trending in the right direction - it will all settle! Do not worry, dear! G
I didn't know anything about heart failure so sent backhand asked him.
His reply.
It is all one complex - and stenting coronaries is one part of the way out of it... And if the heart is weak, water gets stuck in the lungs and it all gets infected - like a pond without water exchange - and then You are in pneumonia and sepsis... but even the measures for heart failure (called nt-pro-BNP) are slowly coming down as they should...

At this very moment in time 14.19 that's 2.19 pm to you, its 36° C the trees are moving so I just stepped out, like walking into an oven, the breeze is so warm it makes it feel warmer not cooler. Tomorrows forecast would you believe 23° in Angermünde where we are going and 24° here, crazy.
I talked with our Heike last night (the one that calls us Mum & Dad and lives in Katzenelnbogen Rhineland Pfalz ) As I knew she would she wanted to come and I said no, first she would have to take time off work, second to drive in this heat when she has no air conditioning in her car and third I am coping much better being on my own. If someone was here I would be blubbing all the time, as it is I only blub when I talk to someone, it just comes I can´t stop it, had to cancel 2 appointments this morning, blubbing before I finished telling them why.
As it is I only cry when I remember things he said in his delirium on Monday, "Tell them to take all this stuff out and take me home so I can die there" and then later "They are trying to kill me you know" this is obviously still going on and I will be truthful and say I would rather not hear it. What is going on inside his head we will never know and I hope, whoever I am supposed to hope to, when he has recovered he won't remember. No wonder they had a job to hold him down when all this started after the op. his hands and arms have a lot of strength in them even now, he got hold of my wrist for some unknown reason and I had a job peeling him off. At one stage he told me he was so so sorry that he had to leave me all on my own because he was going to die.
You may or may not have read all that, if it´s too much information sorry.

It must be awful Milly. You are doing really well in such an impossibly stressful situation. I really hope things get much better very quickly. Thoughts are with you. Hugs.
