Just out of interest, I thought the following question might provoke some interesting discussion;
assuming that you bought the ideal vehicle when you acquired your current MH, what is it's best feature or addition in your opinion ?
Our Kontiki 615 has the ideal lay out, and for me, the addition of the satellite TV system must represent my favourite additional feature, it has taken a time to get sorted as I wish, but now provides a great service.
How about you ? What is the best thing you have added to yours ? (No, your wife, husband, dog does not count as an additional item)

Refillable LPG and a BtoB charger. Everything else was specified in the build ...the above 2 items I was unaware of when we placed the order ( tbf, I dont think either existed in France in 2010 , so I am not really to blame !)

Bloody hell Dave, you will get some stick for posting an actual motorhome thread on here! Got to be the scooter and rack for me. There is nothing that comes close. Transforms a motorhome trip into what is essentially a biker adventure really. Then probably Solar, Gaslow. Kayak was a good addition but its not really just a motorhome addition.

450hp Cummins rear diesel engine. Quiet up front and warm when you go to bed.

Possibly, but I like taking risks.... that must be true 'cos I get out of bed every morning and get in every evening.... (most sudden and unexpected deaths occur in bed). But, it undoubtedly will give everyone a chance to dream and to comment on your suggestion of your scooter.... but I'm not going to hold there, 'cos some risks are simply too great to contemplate AND you have helped me considerably of late, for which I am very grateful. (Crawling b'std I can almost here people typing....)

I bet nobody has fitted a mobile recording studio that runs purely off 12v and solar? I have. All the gear runs off 12v / USB and I can record and produce a full on Rock track from scratch in the van off grid. Still probably sounds shit (to you lot) but its the best place to record as its a total dead zone which you need for recording, producing and mixing.

Refillable LPG, solar panel and two LB's have made the biggest difference to our flexibility to live off grid. Would not go back to small fridge/freezer or be able to do without a garage for the scooter (these were accidental upgrades as they came with the van when we changed to the latest one).

Should also add that last year I added a cheap B2B type gismo that has been excellent in keeping the driving battery at full charge from the solar.

We did get weighed in Switzerland once with the bike on and a luton full of cheap german beer. I think we were 3460kg. Still gt the ticket print out they gave us in the glove box from 2009.

I used to have a line of large empty cardboard boxes down the centre of the underfloor storage bays so my 'helper' couldn't keep adding more stuff to lug around.
