I s'pose I'd better start by apologizing for a serious question here, before you silly fuckers all kick off about the true meaning of Fruitcakes blah blah. Fucts won't let me sign in (no, I haven't let the sub lapse) and I sort of need some serious advice before setting off back to Angouleme next week.
I went to my friendly local gas station today to replenish the Gaslow and found that some stupid bastard has fitted a hard rubber collar to the filler nozzle and that stops it from fitting onto my filler connection. I queried this and was told, guess what, it's for health and safety, to stop people getting burned by cold gas escaping when making the connection - apparently car filler connectors aren't recessed like a Gaslow. Stupid aunts - it's so bleeding safe I can't get any gas - tossers. Anyone have any (sensible) suggestions how I can fill me tanks?

This is indeed worrying. Where are you, what station was it? A one off perhaps?
Do you want me to alert Admin on FUCTS to your login problem? I could start a thread for you if you wish as well if you give me more details.
Surely a car LPG filler must sometimes be behind a normal type Petrol flap so in a recess. Alan might know as he has LPG I think for propulsion.
More info needed.
Good to hear from you though.

not come across one like this , could be a problem for everyone, shame you didn't take a picture. surely the nozzles are made so gas cant escape anyway not heard of it ever doing so.

If this really is a new H&S initiative, then all LPG stations should be adopting the practice, not just your usual one. In which case, I would expect that Gaslow would know about it and either have developed a solution to deal with it, or are working on it. So, why not contact them and see what they have to say.

Nah they are not. I often get LPG on me. So what? Its just a bit cold. Just make sure you remember to put your fag out. I did have one in Yorkshire go berserk once and started spewing LPG after I had disconnected it.

You are certainly Donald Ducked by the sound of it.
Which Garage was it? ..... Shell, BP, Morrisons S/market.
I would get the info out on t'internet. I will put it on the wildies.
I take no pleasure in saying that it will not affect me as mine is in the gas locker (attached to the bottle).

Well done Alan. If what Alhod is describing means you cannot now get the LPG pump hose onto the recessed connector then this extender should indeed do the trick. However, Abroad I already have to use a little screw on adapter which protrudes a little bit so I wonder if I will still need one of these. We need to know if its a one off though. I think we should keep the solution to ourselves until widespread panic across the forums has ensued and until I can set up a Paypal link to this thread for the solution.

I put it on the wildies but I have not had much reaction yet. One silly twit asked for a photograph of the nozzle with rubber sleeve attached. If he had read my post properly, he would have noticed that I said I was only told about this and am not an eye witness.
I mentioned the extender but gave no link (on purpose) so don't go telling them Barry until a general panic sets in, then we tell them where to get one.

You only need 2000 people trying to use the same pump, looking for a solution and then finding your accessory web site to buy them. It's a fecking cert, relax.

Except he'll still need to flog his remaining 18000. Maybe you need to change the batteries in your calculator, Alan. (I know, it's a simple typo, but I couldn't resist trying to make a joke of it.)
