I have always wondered why there are so many people running overweight? I know some motorhomes don't have a massive payload but what do you really need to enjoy the outdoors? We have Glasses, Plates, cutlery etc (all plastic) for just the 3 of us, a couple of pans, a bit of food to keep us going if we don't get to a shop, one chair each, barbecue, and minimum clothes. We have never wanted for anything and enjoyed camping in some of the most beautiful places across Europe.
Then I read thread after thread on forums about hoovers, electric coffee makers, washing machines and today window vacs!!!!! What is wrong with a chamois leather? We have all of these (except a window vac) in both our homes but I thought camping was about getting back to and being one with nature. We don't even take a TV, we did have a sat system on one MH but never used it and I have looked at getting one but I actually like not sitting down and watching all our usual crap.
Am I the only one who thinks this way?

My Mrs has been brainwashed by the media and cannot live without Soaps, Reality series etc.
We have a TV, a roof aerial, a stand alone high gain aerial and a freestanding satellite dish (for the sat box). In a bad reception area next to the sea, we can be mistaken for a Russian spy Trawler with all the aerials and dishes out.
As for luxuries, as long as I have water, some gas and tea bags, I am fine.

Am I the only one who thinks this way? James Yes. No. You could include a survey and include questions about crapping in your Thetford, or even when you put down your stabilizer legs, the answers to which are crucial to the continued survival of the human race. R :-XGER

Now I need to carry a cordless drill and box spanner (another 2kg) to wind down my corner steadies. Pity it will gated cobwebs though as I don't have any. Maybe I should fit some.

Anyone guessed I am in one of those pissed off with people moods today? Thinking about cancelling all my forum memberships, not that I have many but they are bugging me.

I'm with you JP although I dont really like plastic plates so we have two china plates, two china bowls, 2 glasses (not plastic), a couple of saucepans, a frying pan and a small oven tin.
We have a lightweight folding table for outside and a couple of folding chairs
The microwave came with the van but it only runs on 240v and we rarely use it even when on EHU, I have an old fashioned kettle for my tea/coffee and if I really really have to wash anything while I'm away I'll use the sink.
We have a TV with a status ariel, I wouldnt bother but Hubby likes a bit of telly
We have lots of empty cupboards in our van, I'm not quite sure what I would ever fill them with

I couldnt not have a telly in the van! Ok in the summer you can live without it but what about when its winter and dark at 4pm. What do you do? Mind you I think I use the Internet more these days than the telly. Couldnt live with out either. So I dont!
Mind you from what I gather with the footprint being greatly reduced looks like it isnt going to work much beyond central France now anyway so that dome is just causing drag!
