I have a Autocruise Wentworth the leisure battery is under the habitation seating behind the passenger seat. It is under the floor level and has a plywood cover but the cover has cut outs for the 12 volt cables to exit the compartment. I have owned this van for nearly 9 years now and have only had the problem of the Carbon monoxide alarm going off earlier this year. A new leisure battery solved the problem. I think it’s when a leisure battery is past its best and a solar panel is trying to fully charge it that it gets a bit warm and produces the gas that the alarm detects. The other thing is the monoxide alarm is fitted at high level immediately above the battery position this was not by design it was put there as a smoke alarm is in the identical place at the opposite side so they both look symmetrical. I also have a narco gas alarm but that is a switch on or off unit that is only switched on when not in the UK. It would probably also have sounded an alarm if it was switched on.

I also concur with Whiskey (as well as drinking a red label at this current time) my alarm went off and I replaced the leisure battery which cured it, also replaced the alarm just to be sure.
