Is it a simple wind up jobbie or a full spaz room with integral ground sheet and windproof zips? Are you buying the optional stabilising bars and tie down kit? Need to know so I can decide how much piss taking you are entitled to. just a simple wind up jobbie - none of that full spaz room stuff. bollocks to all that kerfuffle. I do however already have a tie down kit from the previous motorhome - which was a German Cock Mobile as it happens. rip away

Do you mean a sun shade / canopy? Most of us have them. Just the thing you wind out with legs on?
If so then there will be less piss taking

You definitely need the driveaway awning to go with it Mr Buddha.
And then next year I can buy it off you for one third of the price when you find you never use it.

BECAUSE I had my MH, complete with Fiamma 45i for 3 years before I found out there were legs 'hidden' in the edge. But the self piss-taking does not stop there because while I was trying to release them I fell back against the open kitchen window and cracked it - what a Plonker In mitigation (not much admittedly) its my first MH, no Fiamma manual and I do not go on campsites so had never seen one with legs deployed Boss, do I get a 'Prize Plonkers Award' ?

Blimey! And people say I'm useless! orning update!! PART 2 just had a call - another fitter has done the job now so we pick it up within the hour ooo - the excitement. I think I've wet 'em... The entire forum awaits to see the "Sun shade / canopy / Orning" or whatever it turns out to be with baited breath. I don't think we have ever had so much excitment on Fruitcakes! Just remember. They are basically shit and will kill your van if you leave them unattended. Knowing your fondness for the Alps etc like me dont do what I did in Austria in 2012 when I watched a storm and some clouds as black as the Ace of Spades roll down the mountain towards us at double quick speed and I just watched them like a rabbit in the headlights while wondering if I should roll in the Canopy. There is a Full Account here if you scroll down to "Alpine Tornado and its almost game over!" Austria 2012By the time I got around to doing anything it was too late and I was left flapping away on the end of the orning while it threatend to take off and probably take half the van with it. I considered taking it off to be honest but they are useful when its hot and sunny.

yay - the horning is fitted and working! [does a little jiggy dance thingy.....] that means it will piss down at Glasto now...... re: fucked awnings at an event last year, a brand new Burstner pulled up next to us complete with one of the no leg canopies fitted on the side. the proud owners dutifully rolled it out, got all their stuff organised underneath and carried on regardless. we looked at the weather and looked at each other and grinned. the wind was starting to pick up..... so we went our merry way and came back a bit later and sure enough - the wind had blown the fucker right over the m/h destroying it in the process. we grinned again. right bastards aren't we???

Well it will either piss down or be baking hot. I remember 89 was roasting and there was hardly anywhere to get out of it. Lots of sunburnt people. I too got burnt but that was because I thought I could defy fire and burnt a fecking big hole in me hand. The Horning should be useful either way.

Whenever I see an awning my first thought is WHY, extra weight, extra complication, extra spending, only really useful with a safari room so more weight, complication, spending, Every van we've bought had one, and we took them off and sold them, we did try using them, but one breath of wind and they turn into hang gliders, and try to rip the side out of the van, too much kayli and you walk into the posts, nah, don't do it, spend it on something useful like beer.
