Yup. No problem, if it'll fit the hole.

Thanks for that Barry, they are cheaper than the ones I have been looking at on ebay. No sure if I would trust a dual porpoises one, seem fishy to me.

Boggers, Atlantic changed into A & N Caravan Services. Here is their very informative website for you to peruse. The Company has not stopped trading but is much reduced at the moment. Why is a bit of a mystery but I believe the force behind it (Allan Evans) will be up and running properly soon. www.aandncaravanservices.co.uk/

Thanks for that, Jim. A&N used to be their next door neighbour, I think! I wonder if he's sold up and thrown his lot in with A&N as an employee or what?
But from reports I've had from members of my group, they're a superb outfit who deserve our support.
Joe... I think you can trust those batteries - it's new technology that's been embraced by both Bosch and Varta - names that can be trusted. The beauty of them is that you need never get stuck with a duff vehicle battery ever again. Just swap 'em over until you can get a replacement.

Do you put the dual battery in place of the leisure and still leave the van battery in situ only using the dual as a stating battery as and when needed? I know i'm a bit thick on this.

If the engine bay battery is OK, just leave it in situ and merely replace your duff leisure battery with the dual-purpose one. Then, if the engine bay battery ever suddenly packs up in some remote spot, at least you have the "leisure" dual-purpose one to swap it for, to get you out of trouble. But I'd then replace the engine bay battery with a very heavy-duty battery because these diesel engines need a wallop to get them turning over that ordinary "car" batteries don't deliver, especially in winter.

Thanks for that Barry, just looking at the specs but it is 53mm longer than my battery box.

Joe, I've asked the manufacturer the question regarding the suitability of these dual purpose batteries to turn over big diesel engines. I'll let you know what they say.
Twat, you have put the above in the cookies post about airbags but thanks all the same. I spoke to the battery people you gave a link to and have ordered a Hankook 100Ah Leisure Battery - XV31 from them. Size of the battery box is the main problem.

Don't worry Joe, you will be fine.
Cookie is right about the Calira ...... but only if you double up on leisure batteries. Adding a few more Amp hours will make no difference.
A few types of chargers can fail early when over stretched. The Reich charger in my van is not original. The last owner added a second battery and blew it up. It cost him around £700 to fit a super duper uprated version that can run 2 leisure batteries plus the engine battery.
Solar panels are good for taking the strain off built in charging systems.
