Yeah, open up old wounds you twunt. Yes, despite the outwardly impression of being all lovable, caring and generally a very nice person I am actually inherently evil.

Update from Milly via email
He is peacefully asleep, hooked up to umpteen things, keeping him hydrated, antibiotics, sedatives, five things being given through a tube in his throat, I forget what that's called, oxygen through a tube in his mouth. I think when I thought he was talking about an incubator he must have said isolation and my tired brain got it wrong because he is in a bit room on his own. The doctor I saw today was German so I could understand him better, no foreign accent. They are keeping him asleep and plan to leave off the sedative on Monday. He says Hans will hear me and know I am touching him, there is just no reaction back, I don't know how he knows that, but I take his word for it and gabbled on about all and everything while caressing his arms, well the bits where no tubes were. I took a couple of photos of him so he will know what I saw otherwise he won't have a clue what's gone on I'm sure. Motley and I have just had our lunch in the big Odercenter, it's quiet the end we are, I showed you pictures of it with all the tree's and empty of cars because it was Whitsun.
I will go again later this afternoon, after I have had a rest. I almost cried, but when the doctor told me he can hear me I managed to hold it back.

I never normally get involved in medical threads, it's just my way but I hope Hans gets sorted as it seems to have gone on for ever. I am not unfeeling Milly, just not vocal about it. It would be a different matter if I was there but I ain't, so keep your chin up and hope for the best. Ha! It'd be different if Hans was a Pug !! (He's not, I presume??).

I have a bad wound also, like you a broken finger nail, but knowing how you were treated I shall not tell Barry.
Only Hans and Jan know how ill one has to be to get sympathy from that twunt, and that is probably only because his twing of knee pain has eased.
See Baz we can all play the I 'couldn't care less' game.
Now let's get back to supporting Jan. Hans can read the whole Saga later.

Right... So the question is... Does Hans look sufficiently like a Pug so that Jim can 'warm' to him?? Over to you, Mildew...

There y'are, Jimbo... Hans isn't a Pug, but he's a German Shepherd... Give the poor bugger a bit of sympathy now!! Acksherly I think it is Milly who resembles a Pug. A delicate Lady one of course with a pink ribbon in her hair fur.
Hans could be an Affenpischer or a Dachshund. Technically, German Shepherds were Alsations, named after Alsace although that territory has changed ownership a few times and it's possible they should be called French Shepherds.
Affenpinschers are a tough, hardy breed and I would class Hans as one.
BTW, I am having medical problems here, although nowhere near as serious as Hans and Milly. Our Daughter and her family are on holiday in the Far East. My Wife has been in the South of France for 5 days. The Daughter boarded out her 2 Jack Russells through an organisation called Petstay. Not cheap but they are looked after very well in someones home. One of the dogs has numerous issues but he took ill and they got in touch with our Tracy (in Singapore), who got in touch with my Mrs (in Nice) who got in touch with me (in Gateshead). I went and got the dog (who had Diarrhea and sickness), took him to the Vets and they agreed to fit him in. His blanket was covered in crap, as was the blanket in the back of our car, so I carried him in and ended up wearing shit on my arms and T-shirt. Anyway, he got excellent treatment but he is not responding and I think he will snuff it before they get back from holiday. The boarder who had him is keep asking how he is and when she can have him back and I am having to make excuses why that will not happen. I cannot be truthful as they are also in contact with my Daughter and I don't want to ruin the holiday of a lifetime. So I am telling her that he is responding well but the Vet needs to give him jabs every couple of days for his upset tummy and he therefore cannot go back in to boarding out. I hate telling lies because I hate lies ... but what else can I do? It's highly likely that I will have a box of dogs ashes to hand over, instead of a treasured pet.

It sounds like the dog is getting the best treatment and is in the care of someone it and your daughter trusts...you. I don't see that that if they flew home from Singapore they could do any more than you are doing and may possibly end up still suffering from two big disappointments, one of losing their pet and the other of a ruined holiday. If things go sideways and the poor dog does not make it then the way I see at least they will have had the holiday. Hopefully they will accept that you were between a rock and hard place.

Jan, a private room sounds a lot better than an incubator so that is a plus. I am sure that Hans appreciates everything you are doing for him.

Just looked in for the first time in a few days and saw this. I have everything crossed for Hans, sitting at the bedside of someone in a coma is a horrible, bewildering lonely place. Jan if I were religious I’d pray x So would I Kay, strange really the times I refer to a god I no longer believe in, oh my god, god help me, for gods sake to name just a few times he gets mentioned. I have just spent half an hour n the phone to our N.Wide Visa, what a performance and I still haven't got what I want, authorisation to use the Visa which is in Hans´s name, I have a card which I can spend up to £5.000 with, I have authority to speak for him on the phone, but I don't have authority to send 50 Polish slotties to pay Orange on the internet. Its not a big deal because I can just nip across to Poland to by a ticket, its just so bloody stupid, all down to this wos a name, can´t even think what thats called now, every one must have one for everything these days. Anyway, it keeps my mind of it for a bit. Here is what you should have had on here yesterday, but the internet ran out and I have discovered now its coz there aint no money in there Saturday
He is still the same as this morning, but his wife tried to kill him this afternoon, I leaned over to hold him and knocked the air tube off, I suddenly found out I can still run, a nurse came immediately and reconnected it. I'm now at the stellplatz sitting outside with a nice cold G&T. 23° with a nice breeze and a dozen white doves are circling above that belong to the house opposite and I have just this very minute witnessed a buzzard take one nothing I could do. TodayNothing new about Hans to report yet. I am about the biggest dope living, I am at home yet again, decided it was necessary because A. my blinkin internet is not working again B. I left my up to date password list, forgot to copy it for the van,I have one in the computer case, but had forgotten to update it as I have changed a few words. There are a few things I can do, refill the water for instance, something I forgot to do yesterday in my rush to get ready to go earlier than planned. I thought I would go and get an Aldi sim on my way home and then I could get it started on the home internet . It´s Sunday, no shops open in this country on a Sunday.
