APPARENTLY IT IS A TOTAL PILE OF SH*T....
Microsoft forced me to download it last Thursday after it backed me into a corner. I believe it is v.1903. It took two and a half hours to download.
Since then Lappy keeps losing contact with server, some functions are disabled or perform different functions, and it is slower. Takes ages to start up.
Have to keep shutting down or re-starting.
If you haven't got it yet read up on it. There is a way to recover your previous version, if done within ten days. (See below)
I am considering doing that, but waiting for my IT pal to come back from hols.

Bad luck, Roger.
I'm putting off buying a computer to replace my old steam-driven Qosmio, and trying to manage everything on my Galaxy plus 128gb SD card. So far, so good...
Yes, it would be nice to sit down at a big screen and proper keys, but there are now just so many downsides it's put me right off. The latest Microsoft shenanigans is typical.

Maybe I should keep quiet but v1903 has worked OK since load.

Mine has been fine Roger. The only problem is that it is either a very big download or took multiple attempts to download as my 40 gb monthly internet allowance was swallowed up by something. I have had to top up my payg standby mifi to keep online (sparingly). I also had multiple updates downloading on my new mobile phone but I don't think they will amount to much.

Some of that info in rogers link is iffy i reckon. That sfc /scannow wont correct driver or update issues.
Also while away i managed to turn off updates for 35 days not 10 as the article suggests. My laptop has been moaning about updates for a few days now though and ive been putting it off as im stacked out busy and cant afford to be fucked up. Doesnt matter now though as some twat walked off with my charger yesterday so now im fucked anyway. Im having to also work on a Six inch Galaxy which someone kindly gifted me. Actually its pretty cool.

no good asking me, I've done my work for the year and I Am now a gibbering broken wreck and all fooked. I would of course help Roger out if I can.
However all my tech is dying since someone fucked off with my laptop charger so very soon I will simply drop off the internet. I could of course charge one of my phones or actually go into the office and use a PC in there but I only associate that place with music and booze now.

Haven´t you got a separate charger in the van, I have and I don´t take my laptop anymore, pop over and you can have that one

Anyway its all sorted now. I emailed the entire organisation oop Norf where I was yesterday and suggested they got off their arses and found my charger otherwise I would turn all their tech off and by 3:30pm a bloke in a van turned up with it.

No really. The charger in the van is one that plugs into the 12v cig type sockets, there is no where to plug it in in the house. I wonder if your talking about a USB charger with a mains plug in it for a tablet or summat. My mains laptop charger has a three pin plug on it so wont work in the van unless on hookup and vice versa.
Anyway, sorted now. I aint doing the update though just yet, too much to do. Ill screw it up later.
