We left at 8am arrived at Navajo 10am. It is a big place and they were working on a Saturday morning which is unusual for Germany I think, most service garages are closed all weekend. I cannot believe these people would be dishonest, there would be too much at stake if they were found to be rouges, so many ADAC vehicles there from pick ups trucks to the small vans they use. However when they have made the estimate this will be sent also to Fiat as well as us to see if they will be responsible for part payment because of the low milage and year of the engine. So, we have cleared everything out, the fridge was on electric after all so the freezer stuff is still OK. My room is now overcrowded with bags full of clothes and other things until we can find a home for them all, not as easy as in my house, she doesn't have the space I have. Yesterday we bought a lot of carpet runner to cover the floors because of Motley sliding on the floor covering and now he is much happier. Heike and Jürgen couldn´t be better if they were my own flesh and blood, nothing is too much for them to do for me or Motley, the house is being turned upside down to accommodate us. I also saw a solicitor yesterday who is going to find the death certificate of Hans´s father we hope, he seemed quite confident he will, its will cost a bit, but otherwise I will be waiting until 2021 before I can sell the house. There are 16 different Lands in Germany, each have their own laws and rules. Each day becomes a little easier for Motley and for me, I couldn´t be in a more caring place. Sounds positive Milly. When I googled the garage they didnt look like some dodgy back street outfit. I Guess you just have to get on with it and hope for the best. So pleased you are being well looked after. you dont need the stress right now. Just get it sorted and put it behind you.

Sounds like you have a plan and are moving onwards with the death certificate of Han's father. Once the moho is fixed you might even have a chance to sit down and relax. Heike and Jürgen sound like lovely caring people, so glad that they are looking after you and Motley.

Not made any progress until today.
As the Hess garage cannot liaise with Fiat, they are not agents or a Fiat garage, the Navajo will be brought to Limburg 15 km from here to a Fiat garage for them to carry on. An expensive affair, but there is nothing else I can do.

Just get it sorted Milly and put it behind you. Easy to say but it sounds like a good plan That is exactly what I think, but it doesn't stop the worrying. Today I have heard from the solicitor who is going to try and find the death certificate for Hans´s Father, can you believe that if he was still alive at 108 years he would be entitled to 1/4 of Hans´s estate, a man who was divorced from his Mother in 1947 and Hans has had nothing to do with since he was about 10 years old. If you haven´t made a Will yet, do it. If he knew what I am going through now because he hadn't made a Will he would cry. All because of the wrong information from our insurance man. We were also under the impression we were fully covered with the insurance by the ADAC for recovery, now it seems we are not. We stopped the ADAC membership because we were led to believe we were fully covered. Can you wonder I am having bad nights when all this stuff goes through my head. Heike and Jürgen are very supportive and tell me whatever happens I have them.

We made wills when we were about 40 milly. Very important and costs next to nothing. When Michelles mum died in 2005 without a will (her dad died in the early 90s) you would have thought it would have been straight forward with just her and her (psycho) brother but oh no. Three years of hell it was. I won't go into the details but it was just awful. It's not like she had much either. A half decent house and a few quid in the bank but the carry on afterwards and the number of people squabbling over the scraps was despicable.

WE made our wills when we seen what happened to a friend of ours. Hubby died suddenly without making a will. The bank account was in his name and although there was thousands in the bank hes wife was reduced to begging from friends for money until it was all sorted and of course the bank was in no rush as they were making money from the account.

Thank goodness that hasn't happened to me Joe, everything was in both names except that which was just my name

There goes 630.01€ before we start I think its better to have it in a fiat garage 15 km away than in the other one 170 km away, I can even go and visit if I want to then . I have come to the conclusion I am going to hand out a lot of dosh before much longer, the van, my Will, finding Hans´s fathers last whereabouts for starters, but I can´t avoid any of them unfortunately.

There sometimes comes a time when, for your own sanity, it's better to just pay up and move on with your life, rather than struggle and fight and quibble over every last detail, ruining your quality of life for the sake of a few shekels. Move on, pay the (reasonable) bills, and put it behind you. Live for today and not devote any more time and energy to these peripheral hassles. Good luck with all these tribulations. Enjoy life.

Thanks Trig. To be honest at the moment I wonder if I will ever enjoy life again, I am still not absolutely certain what I am going to do.

Buck up, Mildew! Look around you... Have a walk in the autumn sunshine... Chat with your friends... Cuddle Motley... talk to Fruitcakes... See? Life IS worth living.
