They are not all the same and its not always just a paper exercise. Some axles cannot be simply upgraded individually without adding bits as mentioned above or at all in some cases. Its complicated. Most likely our next van will be on an Alko Chassis again and I dont think you can uprate the rear axle weights on those and generally the overhang on the Ducato axle vans is too long. I was interested in what Joe said about such a huge upgrade though as I was considering a PVC but I think the best route is to get the maxi chassis or a 4250kg alko coachbuilt in the first place like that Esprit we looked at. Ours was 3.65 on standard chassis, fitted air bags now at 4.35 .1 tonne payload, good to as rear as been increased as well as front.
