The Navajo is now parked in a fenced off area belonging to H&Js Neighbour and just a few hundred yards from their house, I am not sure if that means repair can now be arranged, it does however mean it definitely is driveable. Terry, I have never made a big fuss when I return to Motley from shopping or anywhere else after leaving him alone at home for a few hours, I also wonder bc what his reaction will be this time.

You should get Jürgen or Heike to film the reunion when you walk in the door.

Will do. Doctors have just left, I can go home Monday, but Heike has to ask for time off work so I think it will be Tuesday. The stitches on my head come out today.

The stitches were removed from the little cut on my head this morning and I am going home to Heike tomorrow.
Of course I will be glad to go home , but I have to say this has not been the worst 11 days I have had in my life, I’ve got a super room mate, she will go home on Monday after 9 weeks here and to see her injuries after somehow managing to tip a saucepan of boiling noodles over herself my arm is a minor problem. The staff are absolutely wonderful every single one of them from the top doctors to the daily cleaners, not one of them can I fault. They even stop to listen when I sing to them 😀
I have seen lots of photos of the weekends with the German forums that I have missed, they don’t know what has happened yet because I didn’t want to be the topic of conversation on these happy weekends that everyone enjoys, on Monday they will be told. So many messages from individuals saying they miss me and hope Motley and I sure OK, it’s tempting to tell some of them, but I have resisted. All will be well by the time I tell them.

Glad the Navajo is drivable. I might be tempted to leave it like it is as that way you won’t get anyone park to close 🤔

I was pleased to read that your roommate is going home, because I was thinking that you leaving might make her sad after you have got on so well. She will only be on her own for a few hours. Have a safe journey 'home' to Heike's. Geoff

I get good news each day. Heike will be here in an hour to collect me and the doctor says I no longer need the dressing changed ever day, tomorrow this last dressing can come off and not be replaced, keep the arm out of the sun and slap the cream on. It seems they are all amazed how quickly I am healing. There’s a bit on my elbow and another on the side of my little finger that are a bit raw but no more than a graze on a child’s knee after falling off a bike. Next post after I have seen my little boy who has been allowed off the lead when on a safe track.

I am now with Heike Jürgen and Motley, Motley is out walking with Jürgen at the moment.
I sat on the bench outside the front door so he came out looked at Heike who was in front of him and then he thought there is someone else here, turned and looked at me and wagged from top to tail, we came in sat on the sofa and then he couldn’t leave me alone for a few minutes, but now I’m part of the furniture again only being followed when I go to the loo which is near the out door.
Its good to be able to hear the birds, see the trees, butterflies and the red kites and to be able to walk more than the length of the corridor.

Good news that Jan. Keep healing and enjoy the little things in life that we tend to take for granted. X I have just told my German Facebook forum why I was not at the last 2 meetings, I didn’t tell them until they were over as you can imagine what the topic of conversation would have been amongst the people I know would have been. I said we all need a bit of drama in our lived to make us stronger for the next one that comes along. I am so lucky this was not an even bigger drama for me, I don’t think there will be a lot, if any, scaring only hand and arm, but had I been in the flames one second more I could have had some horrific burns, have I said the lashes on my right eye were burnt off. Jurgen took some interesting photos afterwards, one of the ‚ how to use it instructions and it distinctly says as soon as the button is released the gas stops, they have inspected the van connection and that’s not at fault so there seems to be only one other conclusion. Another photo was of the meter, I had filled with 20 ltrs. this they know because a ticket was printed after I let the button go, however it now says 5.70 ltrs on the meter and as nobody else was able to use it after me where did that gas go? Maybe you come to the same conclusion as me. 2.4. As soon as the black button ( this is a green one) is released the pump stops.

The idea of the push button is its like a dead man's handle you let it go and the gas should stop, normally you can't or shouldn't be able to reach the gas connector while holding the button.
Puzzling why gas should still escape when you have taken your hand off thd button and released the nozzle, nozzle off , button off. Why have both safety devices failed ? Looks a reasonably well maintained pump, that was quite a spurt of gas if 14 litres are missing.
One very lucky lady.

It's possible the button has failed and it's carried on pumping and the vans LPG cut off caused a blow back. As said earlier it happened to me at Filey but slightly different. I connected up, hit the button and the LPG refused to go into the tank and just blew back all over the forecourt but stopped when I took my hand off the button.

One very lucky lady I hadn’t released the nozzle John, it was still connected to the van, the trigger on the nozzle hadn’t released as it should have done and I was trying to see why when the gas shot out at a rate of knots, the 20 ltrs had been deleted because the ticket had been printed the inspector told Heike, the amount shown on the meter is what was lost in the fire. There must be an emergency button at the cash Desk that shut the pump down after the fire was spotted.
