Bloody hell jan, it looks even more scary in that picture. I wasn't disbelieving you just misunderstood it, think we all want to know how, so we might be able to avoid being eye brow less.

Jan
You reported on Fucts that the Police found no criminality, but is that as far as their report went.
Has there been no Health and Safety Investigation and Report?
If the MH equipment was found to be functioning the gas escape must lie elsewhere. Have the Fire Service not produced anything, especially as to the source of ignition - they are usually good at identifying where fires started.
My feeling would be to get an investigator onto the case, but maybe the insurers will do that with a view to possible subrogation against the filling station and or pump manufacturers.

It was pretty obvious my fridge pilot light ignited the gas Geoff. Nothing has been said or done about the garage yet as far as I know. The gas pump is still out of order I think, but we haven’t looked for 2 days, but as I told the police my fridge is secondary, the amount of gas that spewed out is the cause. Maybe the insurance company will dig deeper, at the moment I have no energy to fight. It is now in the hands of my insurance company what happens next I don’t know, it’s a holiday in this area today, probably in Poland as well.

Oh I am cookie, there’s so much I am thankful for, the biggest being that Motley was not in the van and My face was not burnt and that is a Miracle because (I may have already said) the hairs in my right nostril were gone my right eyebrow and eye lash also and 2 days later I saw a burn ( like sunburn) on both cheeks and on my neck, my hair was also singed. The response from the emergency services was amazing and the helicopter that took me to the hospital took no time at all to get there and whip me off. The staff at the hospital were all so lovely, caring and spoke to me very affectionately if you can understand that. Now of course I will be eternally grateful for the love and care Motley and I are getting from Heike and Jürgen, if they were my biological children I couldn’t be treated better. They say my guardian angel looked after me and I say yes, his name is Hans.

Thought I’d better bring you up to date. Going home next Wednesday, driving the Navajo, it’s safe to drive, but I won’t be using gas, the bottles are turned off. Heike comes with me in the van, Jürgen goes in his car on Sunday to get the house and garden spic n span ready for my home coming. At home I have time to wait until the repair can be done, who knows it may take months before a body repair shop can do it. Most important is to get all the gas checked out, everything appears to be OK, Jürgen has been through electrics and gas with a fine tooth comb, but it needs an LPG fitter to confirm the gas is OK. Jürgen is a qualified electrician so the electric can be trusted. We will have one overnight stop half way, at a place I have stopped twice before where the gliders are, there is a restaurant there. You won’t recognise me next time you see me coz I had my hair cut yesterday, really short, I like it very much, wash it and 10 minutes later it’s dry 🧓

It was booked in before your incident, but that added emphasis to having it done. The check passed with flying colours, which is very good not having needed any work in nearly 20 years AFAIK, certainly not in my 14 years owning it. They charged a tenner here, what do people pay in Blighty? Have a good trip next week - those two are still looking after you well. I presume your hand is OK to drive, well wrapped up I suppose.

I think I asked this before but I don't think you answered. If you can make it safe can you not continue the trip and get it all done later? I don't think I've ever had a gas check. Well I check it myself. Looks fine.

My Gas was checked last September Geoff, the most important outcome of this is to turn off the bottles before refilling in case you have left anything on gas. I need something to make the job easier, the little knurled knows are not kind to my old fingers. What to do about the gas station I will look into when I get home, some fault must lie with them I think.

Well I check it myself. Looks fine. First I have to get the gas checked by a professional, although Jürgen thinks the fridge will still be OK he is an electrician not a gas man. I have 7 weeks before the next event, there maybe someone who can repair the side, if I was in England I suppose a brand new side could be ordered not sure about here, but Jürgen thinks a good body repairer could do the job. Lars, who was with me at Christmas, says if I have trouble finding someone local let him know, he has many contacts. Its times like this when you find out how many friend you have, not that many can help. This time next year or even before, it will just be a memory.

Well I check it myself. Looks fine. Nor have I Barry. I was fairly confident in the system, but it was good to have the pressure test as reassurance. I always did a soapy liquid test after I had reconnected a bottle.

I never take the regulator off the Gaslow tank though. I just pull the hose off and connect it to the Calor if I run out and there are no LPG pumps.

Gas pump is still out of order we saw today. Jan This is what I posted on MHFucts a few minutes ago. "Jan As a friend who is legally qualified, and on your side of course, may I advise you strongly to stop discussing even the possible causes of this accident on open forum. You do not know what really happened so even what you say is partly speculation. I will PM you tomorrow. Geoff and Basia XX"
