Seen about ten minutes of Glastonbury ... Its basically just turned into a political leftie bore bag weekend ... I see Greta was there and the hundreds of thousands lapped up her climate speech before they all left their crap, Chinese made tents and travelled back to their homes in gas guzzling motors etc ...

The only band I've seen properly so far was Wet Leg who I have been following since they first emerged last year. Absolutely brilliant gig. It was emotional. No big sets or huge production, not polished and Rhian forgot her words a couple of times and Hester burst into tears when the whole crowd screamed at the point in their latest track where there is a scream. The two girls are not the best guitarists or even singers in the world although Rhians voice is pretty unique but their sound and the songs, energy and vibe were just spot on and electric and just what Glasto gigs should be like.
No interest in watching McCartney and from what I've heard I won't bother. Apparently Diana Ross was shite also. Might watch Noel Callagher as I heard he was good but it's not a great line up really.

Makes you wonder which oldies they'll wheel out next year, to make a mess of songs they did 60 years ago. Didnt even have the balls to do frog chorus.

Watched Noel Gallagher and Skunk Anansie this morning. Noel was good and of course trotted out the usual stuff extremely well and it's all a well oiled professional tour machine with a huge band and pro singers and musicians. The audience loved the old favourites but I got bored. Skunk however knocked it out of the park. Fuckin brilliant. Load of energy, amazing voices and the lead guitarist and bassist sounded fantastic. That's what it's about. They even had Johnson's Peppa pig voice over on "yes it's fucking political"

Somehow I don't think Glastonbury will mourn you not attending.

Somehow I don't think Glastonbury will mourn you not attending. I class not having the experience of going to Glasto the same as not having the experience of having kids ........ Apparently I'm going to regret it one day .......... As Diana Ross tried to sing .......I'm still waiting ..........

Glasto is a right of passage, Until you have taken a shit in a four day old Glasto long drop toilet you have no idea just how disgusting life can be but then again once you have seen Devo and Hawkwind play off the back of a flat bed truck at 3am or watched Elvis Costello's head expand to the size of a football field whilst under the influence of some pretty bonkers drugs you haven't realised how brilliant it can be either.
Having said that. My greatest Glasto experience was being right at the front totally sober listening to All about Eve and Susan Vega. Two truly amazing performances and not remotely rock n roll.

Glastonbury missed out on having Nick Heyward on Saturday as he was booked in at the leeds festival ... He smashed out some classics and didn't once get political ... True rock n roll legend

I caught the back end of one of his gigs once when he was supporting Squeeze at the Middlesbrough Town hall gig. Total Bumder. I can see why you like him though.
