My friend Dave will be 80 years old in May and has decided to sell his Scoot and Hydraulic carrying rack. He has a 'Y' Reg H ymer whch is a good van but he is soldiering on despite having Parkinsons (which is under control). No details as yet, all I know is the following. It is a Honda, 125 cc, water cooled with only 1800 miles on the clock, weighs 135 Kg. The rack can be lifted and lowered when necessary. It will not have been used much because he has carried the Scoot in his garage for a long time. When I have more details I will post them on here. If none of you lot are interested, maybe you could put it on Fucts for me. We were out for a Pub meal with him and his Wife last night when I found he was flogging them. He does not know how much to ask for the Scoot but will let the rack go for a couple of hundred quid (cost about £700 new).

The price of the rack sounds very reasonable, particularly for a hydraulic rack. What year & model is the Honda?

It sounds like the SH125, which is a cracking scoot. Big wheel style. A bit heavy for carrying on a fixed rack on most vans. Sandra and Albert have one, and use one of those fixed trailery things with the castering wheels, I think.
As Friggers says, the price for the trailer is very good if it's in decent condition.
Sorry to hear your friend is struggling, Jim, it'll happen to all of us eventually, bugger it.

Although I wonder if the extra 30+ kilos has a big impact on performance. Have you posted this on the wildies Jim? I could do a link on MHF to here if you like.

I did not want to post anything until I had more details of year, exact model etc. Barry. I might have to give him a ring to push him a bit. He is a lovely lad but not exactly quick off the mark these days. Well, he is nearly 80.

What's this about racks and flogging? Always the same this forum, quickly degenerates into sex and perversion!

short one, gives a shout when you got more info I may be interested if I could fit it on my van? OK blu. It even has a back box for the dug. Before you commit though, you need to get your van on a weighbridge to see what you have spare on the back axle. You might not have the ability to carry a Scooter without air suspension being added.
