That's a great link, thanks Jim.
I'm a great fan of my Sterling B2B set-up, where I'm driving most days. In four or five years, I've never had a problem, and that's using my inverter for all sorts (oven, toaster, hairdryer, vacuum and dehumidifier). I don't have solar but would like it as I may not be doing as much touring in the years to come.

I also am a fan of B2B on 2X 90Ah Domestic Batts. and when we are travelling most days wildcamping it keeps our batteries well-up, even if we stay 3 days, but we have never used 230v equipment on it. We have an inverter, which I cannot remember why I bought it - maybe for the Radio/CD player, but that could run on internal batteries. Maybe we will take the hairdryer next time to test the load and drain. With a B2B and wildcamping, if the batteries were low, a 15min. engine run at 1500rpm would sort it and only disturb a few sheep - sorry guys and girls. We have fitted a solar panel, not wired through the Schaudt panel, which no equipment seems to be compatable with incl. B2B, on Ammmeter, at least - Sterling told me to ignore it, as I know from the high voltage that it is charging. We have a problem with the raw, after controller, voltage from the Solar, being at 15.3 which I consider too high and would not leave the MH with that charge - danger of boiling vented batteries and fire risk. I have disconnected it and intend to replace the controller with an MPPT when I can get my head round how to do it. Our Solar problem is not linked to the problems above and on the linked discussion at AOL. Geoff

I now have a brand spanking new MOT Certificate bluey boy. Got an advisory on a top ball joint (nearside). I'll get it done when I put it in for a service.
