no - not the kids ones, but the grown up motorised ones me and Mrs FB have come to the conclusion that it would be good to get one for many reasons - not least those times in foreign climes where we can't be arsed to either cycle or get local transport to wherever we want to go when Pearl is parked up. but choosing one is doing my frigging head in! so I thought I'd ask for the collective wisdom input of you lot. it needs to fit in our garage so not too big - 1900mm long x 1100 high x 900 wide (approx) - I could go longer by adjusting the storage crates if needed (prefer not) ideally around 100kg - 110kg max twist shift CVT - none of this bike gear shite carry 2 people in comfort and a bit of speed - I'm 105kg, Mrs FB is c65kg - say 180kg load with helmets etc reliable 100-125cc/4 stroke so far, I've investigated Honda PCX 125, Yamaha Cygnus, various Sym models, Peugeot, Piaggi, weird Chinese shite, Direct Bikes etc - and scooters.findthebest.co.uk/ has been useful - but there's so much choice! thoughts?

ta for that tugs The Vision's in my top 5 at the mo. The Sym Jet 4 is getting my No 1 at the mo - have sent them an e-mail asking about max weight I think that max weight is probably if you're using it that loaded on a regular basis - maybe a question how it would handle with us 2 on it on an irregular basis. many scooters only quote a max of 150Kg if looking at info online - I think that's because the online editor just did a cut'n'paste shut job when compiling the pages!

Trouble is, there's no suspension adjustment on the rear. Being a fat twat, I compress the suspension so there isn't much travel left, and if I hit a hole it's pretty rough.
I reckon the Vision is ideal for me to buzz round town and take on the back of the van for single-handing, but I couldn't take a passy on too.
The boss seems to manage OK with his 100cc Peugeot Speedflight, so maybe that has heavier springs.
Certainly worth checking the max load on any scoots on your short list.
Many of the owner manuals are downloadable so that can be a source of info for you.
Oh yeah, and many smaller scoots don't have room for a helmet under the seat (e.g. Honda SH)

We use the Vision when we stay in Goa and it's Ok so long as you are not looking to set any land speed records. We travel a maximum of 100 kilometers at any one time as by then my arse is numb as the roads are pretty brutal. We sling a rucksack over the front faring, fill the underseat compartment and load the rear carrier (well it is India) and would buzz along quite happily at around 45-50 mph on the flat if the OH would let me! We do tackle some very steep hills in Kerala and the performance does fall off rapidly if you don't get a good run up. We have open faced helmets and they both easily fit in the underseat compartment and the bike runs for ever on a couple of ltrs of petrol (sold in water bottles at the side of the road).
