I powered up my old iphone 4 and tried to open Maps.me but it will not open (it just goes back to the start screen. I cannot find a suitable answer online so I have tried downloading Maps.me from the store (without deleting it) and it updated the app but still does not load. This happened before (last year) as I don't use the phone for long periods. Last time, I deleted the app then downloaded it again and it worked. I then have to start downloading all the POI's I want on it. Is there an easier way to get it working? It was working fine a few months ago before the phone lay idle.

I have an old Nokia that I keep as emergency backup with a few quid credit on PAYG. Vodaphone have started cancelling the SIM if your phone isn't used for a few months, and you lose your residual credit. Another scam IMO. I have to remember to use it every couple of months just to make a few seconds call to my home number (I don't have any friends to phone, as you know ).

It was already off, and he turned it on. Knob. Yeah I know but maybe something didnt load right so rebooting it would be the first thing to try. Knobette.

Uninstall it then reinstall it - after you've tried rebooting it of course

WARNING - I am not an expert.
Backup your bookmarks first.
Connect your device to a computer via iTunes, select your device, then Apps – scroll down the page, select MAPS.ME and copy all .kml files (for example, My places.kml) from Documents section.
Then you can disconnect your device from iTunes
Delete the app, restart your device and reinstall it again from App Store.
If it all goes tits belly up don't blame me - if it goes okay send a bottle of brandy to me by email.
