Not much more to say really.
People will go back to being normal now. Great.
Tell me, what's to celebrate about a new year? I have never understood it, Alan.

Not much more to say really. People will go back to being normal now. Great. Except for all those dickheads bleating about how much debt they've got themselves into with their spending for the 'festive season', and the interminal 'news' programmes reporting on the dickheads' problems - as if it were of any interest to the rest of us. As a small child I remember thinking that, but then I lived in Scotland where the established Church had banned Christmas festivities so celebrating the New Year became the norm. It's apparently a throwback to the time when, if one had survived to the Winter Solstice, it was possible to determine the chances that one's meagre stores of food would see one through to the spring when planting and normal husbandry could resume. In reality, it was just a poor excuse for a piss-up and, being Scotland, often a fight.

I think I am truly a miserable git over Christmas and New Year as I have demonstrated on here! Then again its the hypocrisy of it all that does my head in. Its a bit like those motorhomers who wave frantically at you on the roads then treat you like you have some horribile disease once on an Aire and avoid you like the plague. Same at New Year. I switched my phone on to get the usual shite messages from people I havent seen for ages sending round robin bollocks at 12:10 this morning. Its all a bit forced and predictable if you ask me. We stayed in last night, didnt even have one drink but you cannot escape it. The TV is just as shite. Everyone just being over the top because thats whats expected. As you all know I love a good party and very much enjoy getting pissed but I would rather it was impromptu and for no particular reason than the typical New Years bollocks we see each year. Its just another day to me. There. Feel better now! Happy New Year Fruicakes.
