I personally like Avtex stuff. They're made specifically for "us". Have a look and see what you think.

I'm sorry, Sal - I'd assumed that they were one of those ubiquitous products, popping up all over the place (including Europe) but it seems they're not. Their site says the TVs are specified by the company for the UK market. You might spot some for sale, if they do export, in which case I would recommend them from my own experience. They're better quality than some of the Chinese/Korean imports. Here's their website 'Contact' page... tinyurl.com/yb9vagk6 Maybe a quick 'phone call in the morning would confirm the availability in Germany?

I'd have said Avtex too, great customer service. Though any good brand would be fine I'd want to see the actual model working. They all seem to make cheaper models which have poor picture quality and narrow viewing angles, many also have crap audio. Even at full volume some are so quiet that they can't be heard over rain beating off the roof of the motorhome, that's often because the speakers are crap and distort like buggery with bass noises. Also make sure it can play a wide variety of media files from a stick, in particular ,mkv which is a more recent file type which many teles can't play.
Some are quite voltage sensitive so make sure it'll work between 11 and say 16v. 11 or 11.5 is important otherwise every time you turn a tap on and the water lump runs you may find the telly cutting out. If the minimum it can work on is 12v I'd give it a miss. That info should be in the manual or on the power pack.
See whatever you fancy actually working is my tip.

We bought Bush 19" TV/DVD combo from an Argos clearance Store. £79.99 and we are happy with it, so happy that I went back and bought a 22" for the Kitchen at home. It was £89.99. Why pay more?

The only thing I would add is that if power is an issue check the voltage usage. Some are as high as 40 watts. Ours is an Akura 16" and ive been very happy with it. It sits at eye level on the rear lounge so I dont have it up on the roof like some do miles away so 16" was big enough but it only uses 1.2 amps or 14 watts. Makes a big difference if you watch a lot of telly to the batteries.
Sound is generally crap on all of them but get one with a USB socket and headphone socket then you can just get a pair of USB powered speakers for £10-20 and stick em next to the telly. They are powered off the tvs socket.

I have mine running through the car stereo if needs be. Can only do it when wilding though - the sound through the doors is deafening! A lead from the headphone socket to an input on the front of the stereo.

A lead from the headphone socket to an input on the front of the stereo. Would that not run the cab battery down over time though? Your right about them being loud though. Ive come across a few vans using their door speakers either for TV Or Radio and the bass booming out through the door is really annoying. I was going to say they clearly were not as considerate as you but firstly your knobhead of the year so that cant be right and I suspect half of the deaf old feckers dont realise. One Belgian bloke on a private Aire in Normandy had his going for about 30 min and I was about to go and complain and the fecker came out and buggered off leaving it on FFS! He was gone for about two hours!

No. All my dash accessory electrics are now wired to the habitation batteries - two 130ah batts.
The only things wired to the engine battery are the fitted cab lights and I almost never use them, deliberately.
