SWMBO has gone and fetched the paper, it's only a mile each way in about 9" of snow, and some Hot Cross buns while I stayed at home and kept warm.
We're supposed to go and see the Brother-in-law, it's his birthday, but I don't think we'll bother today - walking in snow for two miles is a bit too far for my liking.
I put day-time TV on and decided I haven't gone that out-to-lunch yet and switched the bl**dy thing off.
So, back to the forums and back to irritating everyone.
Still snowing and blowing like the clappers - I'll have to get the tin tray out and practice for the next Olympics ..........

Just watching the French news. Montpelier had 25cm of snow FFS. That is a helluva lot of snow for the med. everything ground to a halt, quelle surprise.

Its unbelievable we don't have any snow, usually there's quite a bit at this time of year. I did actually tell it to go elsewhere this year, seems to have taken notice. Lovely blue sky, but very cold -6.6° with a bit of a breeze

How come when this thing happens everything grinds to a halt? How did hundreds of motorists in Scotland end up stranded for 18 hours? Why the feck are they not more snow ploughs? Too many cars and not enough roads probably doesnt help, trains have all but packed up as well. What do other countries do as many must get more snow than us.
Looks mental out there at the moment.

The snow has screwed up my weekend away in Colchester, had to defer it till next weekend when hopefully the Beast from the East has moved onto new pastures. At least I have a house full of booze I intended to take away with me, will see me through the weekend, eat your heart out at Shit Magna.

I did explain that elsewhere Geoff, we didn't expect to use the van for sometime because of Shade, buying M&S this year would have been a waste, we won't be using it for a few weeks yet and by that time the winter tyres in Germany will be over. When I visited Hans in Schwedt hospital I drive through Poland so I was only at risk of being without them for a few Km through Germany, In Poland that law is not set in stone is it.

Missed previous post. I do not know the law in Poland as we run both vehicles on M+S(alpine) all year, as we will not wear one set out before recommended age to change them, so certainly do not want to change Summer and Winter sets after say 6 years when both are only part worn.

We've had all year tyres on the Forester from day one, we asked Tynevalley dealer to put them on the Navajo and they reckoned they couldn´t get them. October 2016 we had wider rims fitted, the ´experts`said the all year tyres were recommended for these rims and would pass the German TÜV MOT. I drove home about 5 km on a damp road, by the time I was home the van was filthy to the top, we took the van back and told him to take them off and put the originals back which he did, we did not pay for them it was his mistake and he accepted that.
In Poland so we understand, it is not an offence not to have winter tyres, but your for the high jump if you have an accident it frost or snow and don't have them.

I bought my Burstner (used) from Tyne Valley motorhomes Milly. It's a good job you did not have any problems with your van and have to return it to the Dealer ..... their abilities are rubbish. I used them twice and their work was Cowboy standard.

I used them twice and their work was Cowboy standard. This will be year 3 Jim, We had a special written agreement with them Hans looks after the habitation, our local mechanic looks after the rest. We did have a problem with the air conditioning and because we didn't go to a fiat agent it cost us 600€. We've had 3 little problems, the fridge vent, fridge door and light catch and the LED light strip around the top, no problem supplying replacements, but Hans says whenever he phoned for advice they had no more idea than him.
