hi guys, you seem like my kind of people. I'm new to this and i want to do more or less permannet living in my camper. I need the internet and i've been recommended a Google chromebook. What I can't work out is every thing being in the cloud. How dose it work and what if I go to France which I'd like to soon.
Thanks,
Dave

Nah, you want to keep your head out of the clouds, mate. Remember what Buddha said: 'Keep grounded', and THAT was before the invention of electricity, so you can see just how clever HE was!
On a serious note, I don't think it's wise to rely on your stuff being kept securely in the cloud, for lots of reasons. However, if you do decide to keep stuff there, best practice is to:
(a) ensure that it is encrypted BEFORE you put it up there, and (b) ensure that you have at least one other copy on DVDs or external hard-drive(s) so you can always access it when the cloud fails/is unavailable/hacked or whatever.
But our Wonderful Leader and Font of All Knowledge will keep you advised, but only if you cross his palm with large denomination Euro Notes first (Note: he used to accept BitCoin until he discovered that our Fellow Fruitcake, Erneboy, was forging them in his garage, which is why he had to run away and hide in Spain).

Welcome! France dont have "The Cloud" but they do have some bloody good cheese and proper booze so just go and drop the laptop over the side on the channel. You wont need it. IF you do insist on using it then talk to Addie at www.motorhomewifi.com he is de man for all things wifi in the van!

Bloody hell Knackers are we just sat typing replies to the same threads all the time as you keep posting the same time as me all the time! I know, I will go and have a fag and a dump and you carry on. That way we will loose this sync that we seem to have. Wish me luck.

Well I don't smoke but I'd better not go for a dump until you get back otherwise we'll be accused of synchronised dumping too!

Thanks for the tips guys, really great. I know you've not taken to my suggestions about Motorhome Dogging - your loss you dried up old farts - but I do appreciate the advise about the cloud.
My mate Kevin reckons that storing all my photos in the cloud is the best thing for when I pluck up the courage to go to France (I'm a bit worried about being gassed). He reckons that these Chromebooks are really cheap and all my pics will be safe even even if I'm gassed and they nick the computer.
But my Mate Kevin isn't as clever as you lot that's for sure cos there's one thing he's not thought about, which I'm sure you lot have.
What if I'm in France and it's a really sunny day and there are no clouds. How the feck to I get to all my photos and stuff. Dozy git never thought about that did he eh.
Thanks again guys, your the dogs bollox. Especially that Seanbeardie who's always the first to answer my first posts with some really good advise. Stand up bloke. well, most of the day anyway.
