Not cheap Milly, hope you are going to put it to good use, don't let it sit there doing nothing, use it in Hans memory.

Gulp!! That's a helluva hit, Mildew. But... it's over now, all that worry. Yes, shame Fiat into helping a poor pensioner widow - we can do it.

I don't know if it was right or not to have the engine rebuilt, but I get a 2 year guarantee, everything is new so it's like a new engine I suppose. The tyres are just in time, snow a few km. From here, Jürgen usually needs 45 mins to get home from work, took 3 hours today because roads were closed due to snow.

I´m a bit nervous about fetching it, I do hope everything will work after the batteries were reconnected.
I have to rely on the lady who's dog I take out for a pee to take me.

What a bleeding performance to get the bill settled, I have the money, but can´t spend it how I like, internet banking wouldn't allow it.
I rang the bank and was told I can only make up to 3,000€ bank transfer, I didn't ask if That was per day or if I could do several to pay it, that would have meant 5 transfers.
It´s been sent now from my money exchanger, no trouble there.

One less thing to have to worry about Jan. I wouldn't worry about driving it as it now has a two year guarantee in fact I would make it my mission to see if I could get another engine out of them before that runs out...just ask Bazza for some driving tips

I'm pleased there is light at the end of the tunnel Milly. For the amount of time it has stood, the Leisure batteries (I'm assuming you have 2) may be knackered. Make sure they get a good charge and keep a watch on the voltage. After charging, they should settle down to around 12.6 volts. Check them daily (without anything switched on) and check that they hold their charge. If they quickly drop down to 12 volts they will need renewing. You will soon find out if you have a night away off grid. Your engine battery should be fine as it will have been removed.

The hab batteries are quite new, last year, and they were also disconnected.
While the van was at the first garage it was plugged into the mains, it's been at the fiat garage since the 27th of October I think, about 6 or 7 weeks so I don't think they will be knackered.

That's good news Milly. If they stand for a long time, especially in cold weather, it literally drains the life out of them.

Hans gave Erick a battery and charger with the caravan we gave him and told him to put it on charge regularly through the winter, he didn't and expected Hans would be able to bring it back to life when it died. The impossible he could do, miracles he couldn't.
