Yikes! That's it, selling my bike.o How's the new bike going? Because of the shit weather we have had I've only been out on it about 3 times. So far clocked up about 350 miles and although a bit on the slow side I'm loving it so far. It's due for it's first service on Friday, after that I'll be able to start giving it a bit of welly. Might even get up to 60 mph. Lol. I'm finding it's a whole different way of biking sticking mainly to little back country roads and taking in the scenery instead of having to concentrate on the next bend, road conditions etc. I've actually been cleaning it which is a first for me for many years.

Yeah its been shit lately. Looks good tomorrow up here for one day at least. I think you might have a point. Thats why I love riding the Honda. Its fun but at slower speeds. I often start out meandering on the Vstrom at a steady pace but I always eventually end up riding it like I stole it. They are talking about the new 150hp GSX S1000GX on the FB Strom group right now. Its just way too much power for what looks like an Adventure bike. It would be a toss up which would come first for me. Losing my licence or being splattered.

I think I can diagnose myself as clinically depressed nowadays. I honestly cannot remember a single week when it's not rained since last September. I just want to get out for a decent ride. I think this year might be my last for the music festivals, although I say that every year, so next year I can get over to Europe for a good biking break with some mates. Years ago I could ride faster than the bikes would be capable of whereas modern bikes are so much better on handling, braking etc. I really don't need the "speed hit" nowadays. I've been riding legally for the best part of 60 years now on just about everything from a little BSA Bantam to a fucking great big Harley. Ive been racing on a Kwaka 500 triple to doing a 4800 miles trip to the top of Oz and back. I've even had a blast around the Nurburgring on a road bike. My point is that I'm ready for a "steady ride" without thinking that I need to keep up with the lads every time we go for a blast.

Yeah it seemed like in March spring was here and everyone got out on their bikes and then its just pissed down just to piss us all off! I guess I had a bit of a gap with anything fast so it was kind of an itch to scratch really. I suspect at some point ill end up on something smaller also. I really dont need a big bike for what I do. I would have another Auto big scoot to be honest. The new 350i Honda range look great. So much less hassle to clean as well. Keeping on top of the Vstrom and all its nooks and crannies is torture. I do love it though.

If you think you're clinically depressed on a motorbike because of the weather try riding a pushbike in this fecking wind! Went out this morning with a forecast of "gentle" winds until 12. Lying fecking bastards.

Had a quick nosey out for about an hour. Crap. Michelle took one look at the weather and bailed so went out on my own. Pretty gusty in the Dales also. Binned it off.
