That's about right Pusser.
I am not sure that the RoI would want NI though, not at the minute at least. Too expensive I think. A poll on it would make interesting reading, Alan.

I think it ended (not quite sure that's right to start with), because Patrick Public we just so sick of war. Everyday death was happening around both sides families and I think this continual horror eventually became intolerable to the point that ideology, political dreams and objectives became not as important to the original issue or uniting Ireland once again. As someone who is not Nationalistic nor has dreams of no more borders I cannot understand why Ireland cannot be one country as it used to be. If it became one country and everyone had a vote surely it would bring out the best of both sides and couldn't be worse than what we have ended up with. It never ended Pusser, and it never will, no matter how long it takes to unite the country. Google Irish rebellions, see how the Irish have fought the English for over eight hundred years. The Irish will never accept English rule in the occupied six counties of Ireland. The jackeens from the pale might not want anything to do with the north but there are many more who do. The shinners are held in contempt now, Mcguinness has been a tout for 30 years, and Adams is a paedo sympathiser. The dissesents are getting stronger. there will be more bombings, you can be sure of that. Unlike their Scottish cousins who walked onto the ships with their heads bowed. the Irish had to be dragged on to the coffin ships kicking and screaming and howling curses at the English. Thatcher was desperate to give the six counties back to the Irish, but they could not fall out with the unionists who were keeping them in power. Brits out of Ireland. seamus.

The shinners have have tabled a motion for a border poll during the next term of the Northern Ireland assembly Alan. The clowns don't have the support now for that. seamus.

It's more the RoI I would be interested in Seamus. The result from NI isn't difficult to guess I think, Alan.

While I agree injustice has been done to RoI many times I do think at some point the amount of lives that have been lost and will be lost has to be added up and is it a price worth paying. There is injustice all around the world and that is what the world is. An unjust place but so many, many innocent people have been slaughtered when things left alone they could have had their only chance of a decent life. No one is suffering from not being united it is only the rage of what has happened in the past that will once again spill out to many more deaths and the only way is United Nations. But we have to draw lines somewhere. At what point do we seek revenge on the Norwegians, the Germans, the Dutch, the Spanish, the French, the Italians, the wherethefukarewe tribe of pygmies. Then we have the aborigines, the American Indians, the eskimo's and God knows how many ex soviet states with issues and I have not even started on the Middle East. None of it is fair but neither is killing a lot of innocent people very fair either which always happens in confrontations. 800 years and how many dead and yet at least you can live peacefully now in RoI|NI and families have opportunity and a better chance of progress for their children that other countries can only dream of. Surely the only way forward to negotiate and that will take years and you may not succeed. Killing people will probably end up with precisely the same result. It's a no brainer even though I do understand your issues having had a girlfriend whose whole family were in the IRA except her (so she said.) They were all very nice people from a nice family but life spoilt by an heriditary rage.
