i am having an issue with MHF. No other sites. I posted on facts to see if others were having problems, but the issue has got to the point that from the list of active posts, when I select a topic, it flashes onto my screen but immediately is taken over by some rogue advert.
i notice that Barryd posted but cannot see what wisdom he offered.
the screen is white with a header showing an apple logo and trying to tell me I have won a free app. No description of what the app is. They purport to come from destinyad.xyz, or nightad.xyz and other names. In the centre of the screen there is a box with options to cancel or download. Needless to say I have not clicked on any option. Not even to cancel. I can either click back, or normally just refresh the active posts button.
Terry reported the issue for me, and at least one other poster had problems. I was advised to download Adblock or adbackplus. Problem is when I look at the App Store there is a vast array of these, many using the name Adblock. Can any of you guys point towards which is the best.
when I googled destinyad.xyz there is a long thread on digital spy forum from people who were having this issue. Their forum was notified and the problem stopped soon after. There was no indication as to wether this was coincidence.
any update or advice welcomed.

This is the one I use on the PC. Well its the right logo. itunes.apple.com/gb/app/adblock-plus-abp-remove-ads/id1028871868?mt=8I Think I posted on that thread to say IOS / Apple users had been targeted on here as well and wondered if it was related. Try installing that and see if it fixes it. There are a few IOS users on here so maybe they will confirm although one of them is Tugboat so he may just reply telling you to insert a Haddock into your drive. Clearly it doesnt work though as he has knackered his puter.

Thanks for that Barry, curious though that is only one site. Noticed tuggy's problem with the mac. Hope he gets that sorted without loss of data.
I will try the Adblock thanks.

Following your advice I have downloaded Adblock. It appears to have solved he problem. I had thought Apple were fairly exempt from this type of problem and this Is the first time in two years it has failed.
Several old high denomination Indian rupee notes that I happen to have are on their way to you. Thanks.

Macs are not immune to pop up shite and seem to being targeted at the moment. I dont think you are at risk but it may well feck up your user experience as you have found out. Glad to be of assistance. Bill in the post.
