Hi.Sandra's younger sister died of a heart attack aged 48 on Christmas Eve 4 years ago, I haven't mentioned it and I can't make my mind up if she isn't saying anything so as not to put a downer on Christmas, or she has forgot which I am sure she wouldn't... So I'm saying nowt unless she wants to bring it up, I think the kids coming over tomorrowrow is at the forefront of her mind, if so good.

Michelles mother died suddenly and still fairly young just before Christmas in 2005. She always brings it up though. Im sure she will be looking forward to them coming over but it is a time when we reflect on who we have lost.

Michelles mother died suddenly and still fairly young just before Christmas in 2005. She always brings it up though. Im sure she will be looking forward to them coming over but it is a time when we reflect on who we have lost. Whilst it is sad to remember those we have lost, it is sadder still not to remember them. My grandfather, who lived 'till he was 101, used to raise a glass at the Christmas table and recite a toast which he claimed he'd been taught by his grandfather. The toast suitably reflected those who had survived and those who had passed on. It went as follows (suitably rendered in broad Scots): " Here's tae us, Wha's like us. Damn few, An they're a' died" And here's raising a glass to all of them, and us.

You realise time is catching up on you when, at this time of year, you start counting and realise that the friends and relatives and acquaintances you have lost over the years outnumber those still living.
A toast to all of them, and to the living.
Thought I'd better join in with the sombre mood and cry into my whisky and stop posting funny vids in an effort to raise everyone's spirits, when the only spirits being raised are in excess of 40% proof.
Cheers. Roger

Well l spaked my mind on xmas on the dark side ... or is it the light side? Anyhow Tenerife at xmas was great they didn't do it like here. the main day as religious, none of the commercial crud of uk and they have 12th night on 6th January that's the big day/presents/parades and much better because even for that it didn't have commercialism...probably changed now though Brian hated xmas as he hadn't seen the kids for years wont go into why but it wasnt that he didnt want to and everyone being kid happy hurt him deeply. I hated it as we went from big family xmas down to just the 4 of us Mum, Dad, Brian and l and remembering home and past. And especially the past 4 years of hospitals and deaths. Andy hates it for family xmas problems ..pvt so wont state here. Also add in everything about the falseness, wasted money and commercialism. We look at the piles of food people buy with mouths open in shock. I collect the sainsburys nectar points in the year, mainly fuel and result is that we spent 2.50 on all our christmas and new year food. Almost normal shop but a leg of lamb as Andy likes that and wanted a treat. 1 christmas pud l got a tiny piece of as diabetic and 1 box of mince pies l had 1 from and he had the rest. A weak point l love xmas fruit cake, mince pies and christmas pud but now as a type 2 pretty much a nono. Wanted to go away but with the bad weather forecast we didn't, had a chance to go join the wildcamp lot at Ribblehead but weather was bad and Andy didnt want to join folks so quiet night in bed by 22:00. Please bear in mind it isnt just men who can not work out why everyone goes mad on buying stuff they wont use some of us females also look on totally confused... but then l dont really fit in the bracket of normal female Remembering family and absent friends been to 4 funerals since 2010 Dad, Brian, Son in law, Mum and 3 friends (2 within the last 2 months and Emma who died with Brian in 2010) l couldn't go to their funerals as to much on an emotional drain and l think soon another one to go to.

Sorry you've had such a tough time. Plenty of Christmas humbuggers on here so you're in good company. We'll have to try hard to cheer you up with abuse, filth and innuendo.
