I seem to remember from Training School (over 40 years ago!!) that the fraudulent wearing of uniform (maybe medals?) was an offence but of course, there had to be the element of "fraud" not just parading round.

Obtaining a pecuniary advantage would have covered it if the wamker had conned someone out out a service or monetary gain by purporting to do/be someone entitled to it. The person who gave that service or money would have to say that had they known the full and true circumstances that they would not have provided those monies or service. However that act has now been repealed by the Fraud Act 2006 and will no doubt exist in some kind of format within it and being on my third glass of wine I don't think I will be searching for it tonight
