So. we have our new battery. 230ah. setting it up on the control panel we are asked for the maximum capacity and nominal capacity. any clue ? Battery itself says nothing. Is there a formula ?

Bung 230 down on both as that would be the ideal. Yer never gonna get that in the real world.

I don't know what you have Sal, but we have a Sargent and its a pain in the bum, says the batteries are full after being on charge for yonks , but only 67% in AH, now how can that be? All this technology is a pain in the head.

It's like mpg figures and range of electric cars. All hypothetical 100%.

With ours you enter the nominal ah and it will calculate the maximum automatically. The % ah reading is based on the maximum, not the nominal. Which makes sense. Kind of. Anyway. Thats all simples compared to finding the starter battery, and workingout how to get cabling between it and the B2B unit...and where the hell to put the B2B unit. Its OK. We are leaving in exactly 2 weeks. Everything can go wrong between now and then.

Just keep the power cable runs as short as you can, Sal. Our B2b is behind the driver's seat, next to the hab batteries and the inverter, with as short a run as poss.
