We are on the road again . We need to try to get out of France today . The Gilets Jaunes and general revolutionaries are hard at it and tomorrow will be a bordello ...
So . New turbo . And the bill was less than the devis ..€3700 . Result, kind of 🙂

Yep, always a sweeter pill to keep the customer happy. Count yer blessing Sal and good luck travelling outa France. Sad to hear the buggers are still very militant after concessions have been made. They are just buggering up the country now. And me.
Ray.

It’s OK travelling outside weekends and here in the south they close many autoroutes overnight . At Mercedes there were a large group of gilet jaunes ..filtering during the day but closing stuff off at night . Tyres being burned , firecrackers etc . Dogs went nuts ! The upside is we havnt actually paid at à péage yet ...

Sarah
Glad you are sorted and mobile.
Also pleased that the Ouch! of the bill was a bit less.
I did not like to ask earlier, but was the €10k spent on the beast before or including the turbo?

So the French mechanics can get a wiggle on then it seems. Glad your back in business.
I gather on the news this morning that its really going to kick off in Paris this weekend. Looks like another revolution. The French are good at those.

Having established it was the turbo by about 4pm , he ordered the new one . It arrived at the garage 7am the next day . They did all the work yesterday and final tests this morning . Et voilà . En route to Italy . Currently at Aix en Provence .
The €10 is including the turbo 🙂

And if Macron goes - who next?
Marine Le Pen is a possibility and if her policies are undertaken the Frances sovereignty and controlled borders she envisages may hamper our progress past Calais on our way to southern Spain.
Never have riots or referendums or you may get something you didn't wish for ....

I wonder if the Bip n Go toll tag will still function as normal? Ray.

No toll tags required . All barriers are open and the gj’s collect tickets if you have one . They are now making silly demands though . The old chestnut of lowering the retirement age has been put forward ....again !

I am pleased the turbo is inside the €10K. I think with our 15 year old Arto we have not spent €5K on a few parts, servicing, MOTs, tyres, batteries etc. in 9 years - maybe just lucky, but labour here is cheap.
