Dave. I have missed your rotating avatars. Not sure how you do it but they are great. Now. Where were we?

Dave. I have missed your rotating avatars. Not sure how you do it but they are great. Now. Where were we? Can you have surgery for the rotating avatars on the NHS? Speaking of which, my Doc. said he has three new cases of gonorrhea last week. He is going to keep me a few bottles, Alan.

I find it rather shabby when those that can afford to donate money to good causes have to tell everybody. It should be a private and good thing to do. Equally shabby are those that can afford to do some good and don't. So just in case anyone was thinking I am shabby, I played it safe by not donating anything at all, at all.

My view is that mentioning how much you have given is perhaps not a good idea but saying that you gave something may encourage others to do so too. Let's face it these people are in a desperate state, Alan.

I agree Alan. The appeal drive however doesnt seem to a have the same momentum as the Tsunami appeal yet but I suspect the true extend of the devistation is not yet known. There was a little old bloke collecting outside the Co-op yesterday in the village down the road, everyone was putting money in but then again he was clearly a local as they all knew him so that probably helped. I told him to pack it in, he was turning blue in the cold.
Maybe we should be doing something on here or FACTS should.

We used to stand outside Tescos once a year to collect money for St John Ambulance and it was a real eye opener, the little old ladies, those who obviously did not have a lot and those with children invariably put in quite sizeable donations, often of the crisp crackly kind.......
Those that drove up in beemers, or Volvics, or that sort of car were tight ar8ed and would walk past with an obvious nasty smell under their nose......
Mind you from Friday at 0730 through to Saturday at 2200 (with the Friday night off between 2200 and 0730) we used to collect IN EXCESS of £3,000 - incredibly generous - most people are if they support the cause, and SJA attracted a great deal of support from the public - like the RNLI or Air Ambulances,
So I am not surprised that donations are coming in thick and fast, but I bet Georgie boy is bricking himself as he announced that he would match the public donations - I just hope Lizzie got someone to nip down with a bag full of fivers rather than a credit transfer as he would say "she is not public".

No alan, although oul vinegar tits and I went to different schools together I can assure we have absolutely nothing in common, apart from the tax man taking my money to keep that mob in obscene luxury.
