Got it
I have parked it as close to the hedge as I dare without a bit of guidance, next time it will be better and the next better still. Right next to the hedge there is only the drivers door that is acceptable for potential feeves. I do hope the batteries will be alright, it needed a jump start from their thing and he said if possible plug it into the mains to recharge, but thats not possible, so I drove home the long way about 40 km, through the country and now the vehicle battery is in the green 12.4 but the hab battery in the yellow, I hope they will charge up, they were new last year. i.postimg.cc/52vX0Nz4/IMG-0548.jpgi.postimg.cc/TY5w7YCV/IMG-0549.jpgI can see it from the front door. i.postimg.cc/pLNdgb6g/IMG-0550.jpg

I dont understand why any of the batteries are flat. Surely you would have expected them to take them all out, look after them and see they were fully charged for when you picked it up. So much for German efficency. I reckon they will need more than a good drive out milly.
Van Looks great though and I'm pleased it's back. Looks safe enough there. Rural location but just check with your insurance that it's covered parked there all the time

Glad it's back, hope it is all sorted. If you have battery problems there are reasonably priced 'smart chargers' on the market which actually repair sulphated batteries and restore them to original voltage.
Worth a try if it comes to that and a good investment. They can be permanently wired in to the system.

As the vehicle battery has charged up and the hab batteries (there are 2) are in the yellow, I have hope.

Very pleased you have got the MH back and that it is working OK.
Apart from anything else it makes you independent now, including being able to go away if you feel Heike and hubby need a rest.
I agree with Barry that the garage should have given you back the MH with batteries charged. Bill them for a charger.
But I am really pleased for you anyway.

Glad to see you back on the road Mildew, Lidl and Aldi do a very good smart charger but you have to watch for when they are on offer.

Glad you have got your van back Milly, I park my van drivers side hard up against the house and use the hab door for entrance(no lock on the passenger side) this makes it impossible to get to the drivers door. On my drivers side is the ignition key and OBD port which makes it difficult to access but as yours may be a lefthand drive it may not work

Good for you, Mildew... very pleased for you.
Can you not run a small extension cable (doesn't have to be the thick 13amp orange ones) from the house, out of a window/door to the 'van? I did that for several years at my last house, under my garage door, until I fitted an outside socket. In fact, I'm doing that right now, on my driveway! Leaving it permanently plugged in will keep your batteries topped up via the on-board charger. Alternatively, once or twice a week, run a cable out to the 'van and leave it plugged in for the rest of the day - that'll be enough to keep engine and hab batteries topped up.
If you are able to run a cable to it, I highly recommend getting a small, cheap (£120) dehumidifier to leave plugged in in the 'van. It will stop that "damp smell" you get in second-hand 'vans on forecourts, and it stops damp/mould/MILDEW(!) getting into the soft furnishings inside.
Good luck, now you have your 'baby' back with you!

Doing what you suggest Trigger is not on, the van is about 70 meters away from the property the other side of a public lane on a public car park.
Flint, the hab door I think is the one anyone who wanted to get in would go for, against the hedge, when I get really close, they won't be able to get in, the cab door is more visible to passed by. See how much you don't know or have forgotten (an age thing probably 😵) we had the van was sent over from England, it's a RHD.

I hope you have deadlocks fitted to the front doors, Mildew?? Deadlocks are cheap enough. Here's what looks a good 'un... tinyurl.com/uesuv5c

So sorry about this terrible experience. Sincerely, I don't even know what to say about it. I was just thinking you could have probably used a travel trailer to tow the vehicle so you won't have to experience this.
