Just seen a thread on 'Motorhome Fun', regarding 'habitation checks'.
Some of 'em are paying over £200, ffs!!
In all my years of motorhoming, I've never dreamed of having someone go round checking what anyone (apart from elderly /disabled) can EASILY do for themselves.
This nonsense started, I believe, with Hymer dealers, getting warranty checks and discovering it was another handy source of income.
Bloody daft if you ask me - more money than sense!

When we bought the Navajo that was one thing Hans made clear with them from the start, we are not going back each year for a habitation and dampness check, the forms were sent here and he filled them out himself.

My motorhome guy just goes round with a damp meter every now and again. I knew we had a problem with the dinette window and the side of the van though. Just had it all done. £400.
Everything else is fine apart from a bit of damp in the back of the garage, probably me putting in wet leveling blocks and scooter ramps like a twat.
