Good resourcefulness that. Those tyres are not fucked otherwise they would be down to the core. Re-treading them makes them ok for trailers or ferrying Donkeys around the town or lanes. Is that Raaaacist?

When I was an apprentice there was a tight fisted bloke who worked in the fitting shop who instead of buying new tyres for his motorbike would carve a new tread in his old ones. His money saving schemes finally caught up with him when he insisted on blowing out the pilot light on his gas boiler to save a few pence. Buggered up the boiler and cost him hundreds for a new one.😁😁

Back in the 80s a pal of mine bought a battered Colt GTO off another friend for next to nothing. He fixed it up but went cheapskate on the tyres and put Star D Remoulds on it. We were back up crew for the Beamish rally and we went in this now "fixed up" Colt GTO. Thought we were cool as fuck. Everything went fine until after we left the finish party and headed back south down the A1 at top speed (about 125 mph). The tyres were apparently only rated to 60 mph and the rear ones literally fell apart and shredded. Not an experience I would want to have again. As said, ok for Trailers etc.
