OFFICIAL REPORT ON AIR-SUSPENDED TUGIMMOBILE
I today attended Tugboat Towers and, after producing my official Fruitcake Authorisation, I gained access to the landing strip and inspected the installation. After fignting my way through piles of shredded plastic that looked suspiciously like exploded blow-up dolls ("Test pieces" he called 'em) I gained access to "hot-air central"... and he then let me look at what he'd done! Against all expectations, it's a fine piece of work and amazingly, it all works! But for how long I'm not sure. It could blow at any minute, Cap'n...
But... the pump pumps, the air hisses and the needles go up and down - what more could you want?
If the suspension goes up and down, that's just a bonus!
As I left him, he was busy preparing a massive buffet because he was apparently expecting some visitors - there were bottles of 12 year old Glenfiddich and Glenlivet, a case of !2 year Bushmills he's had specially shipped in, cases of Leffe, a veritable cheese mountain, and a pile of pies. I hope his visitors don't let him down... He's gone to so much trouble.

Sounds great. Glad to see he has sorted out the Fruitcake Riders.

Waxed up all the metal parts this morning. Knackered again. Off out with Ellie, then a rugbyfest.

Don't you just hate it when people tell each other they have sent pm's on the open forum like they are up to something? Don't open it tuggers, it will just be another begging letter.

You're right, Bazza. He said, as I'm so good at this mechanical stuff, could I make him some stilts?

OK, I've been out for a test run in the van. With the airbags pumped up to 4 bar there is very little body roll on the twisty roads so that is a big improvement. The van is empty at the moment, so the real test will be when it is loaded up, but I can already see things are better. I let all the air out before I got home, took some height measurements, pumped the bags up and re-measured. The chassis at the rear wheels went up about a centimetre, and the scoot rack went up about 1.5cms. This doesn't seem much, but presumably when the old girl sags under load, the gains will be greater. Rightee-ho, some pics. The box of bits when opened, very well packed in heavy duty packaging. Ze upper brackets, zinc plated, pretty heavy. Ze lower brackets to be attached to the hubs Ze airbags, compressor and pipes. The compressor is pretty heavy, proper commercial quality compared to the usual domestic tyre pumps. It has proper rubber mounts, but still sounds like a bloomin' machine gun going off. Airbags were smaller than I was expecting. Here's Miss Nosey and a shoe for scale. The control panel which is very nice quality. Marcle sent me by separate mail (the kit came from Holland btw) a black ally plate so that you can mount it in the cubby hole at the end of the dash. I chose to mount mine at the base of the passenger seat facing the driver. Here you can see the hole in the nearside hub where the lower mounting bracket goes. It is retained by a couple of hook thingies that slide in grooves and are tightened once things are aligned. Here's the nearside chassis. The 2 nearest bolts had to be removed. According to the destructions, there should have been 2 more bolts to remove from the chassis a bit nearer the camera (I think supporting a chassis crossmember) but I didn't have those so had to drill them, 12mm so quite big, and access for the drill was poor. Here's the holes drilled and painted. More to follow.

Are you sure thats an Air suspension kit? It looks more like a fecking bomb to me. I wouldnt set those timer things to when your in the van if I were you. I think they got your order mixed up. Ill call Mi6 straight away. Those paving stones look a bit shit. Which blind fecker put those down? The best photo is the one with Ellie in.

I don't know what your game is Tugs, but you're fooling no-one with your buttering-up to Bazza... We all know that "Admin does NOT have a massive knob" and you broadcasting that he does on your signature is just telling a bare-faced LIE. If Admin had spotted what you've put, he would be very angry. Very angry indeed. But luckily he hasn't spotted it yet...

You didn't mention that your kit is for an AL-KO chassis. Manufacturer's chassis'd motorhomes have a cheaper/simpler airbag system like this one... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fiat-DUCATO-AIR-SUSPENSION-KIT-for-Motorhome-Recovery-/182035822880?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368

It's a Croc FFS and he's let everyone on the internet know he owns one! Even worse if he owns two!
