Hmm. I was wondering when someone would notice my pinpoint parking. Can someone come and get me out though please.

You have to remember to fold in the mirrors but otherwise I can wack it straight in blindfolded now (probably)

If you fold in the mirrors you can't don't know what the back end is doing until you hear the sound of it scraping along the wall at the side, then over-correct and scrape the other side.
But what do I know - I never passed a test (just like most Belgians, apparently).

Never hit anything yet but you do have to line it up right. No good coming in at an angle. I just stick me head out of the window.

Similar embarrassment to taking an old Merc Pioneer in the 80's over to the Isle of Wight and on our return I had a very difficult job taking the m\home through an arch and into the queue of cars waiting to get on the ferry. I felt quite a clever sod having managed it and decided to put nonchoolont (I know. can't be arsed) on together with smug look as people stared in wonder at my driving skills.
This all came to an end when a taxi driver knocked on the window and asked me if I was picking someone up. "No." I said, "I'm waiting to get on".
"Oh," he said. "You have a problem". "You have joined the taxi queue meeting the ferry but this terminal is only for foot passengers."
So I was stuck there until the ferry arrived and one by one the taxi's picked up a fare and eventually I could drive off and out passing a a single gangway and several pedestrians of which the majority smerked at me. Bastards.

People wonder at my driving skills all the time, judging by the envious comments they shout at me as I whizz past mounting the kerb, ignoring pedestrian crossings, traffic lights and all the other impedimenta to speedy progress, cutting them up, straightline roundabouts forcing them to swerve or brake, etc., but then not everyone can be as expert as I am.
It's a gift!

When I reverse the old Hymer, (LHD) in off the street through the double gates (which I have previously opened by the way), I have just an inch clearance either side of the mirrors. As the O/S mirror clears the gate to the right I have to put on a load of left lock to swing the rear O/S corner past the house wall, followed by right lock to line up with the drive and to avoid the fence to the nearside.
A bit dodgy when I first got it, but now able to do it in one fluid movement (The driving that is).

Rule number somethingorother: You should not reverse out into the public highway. So, leave it in the street in future!
