Thanks for the beer and wine advice it has certainly helped! We cooked up everything last night that had defrosted in the freezer and had a mega blow out meal. The fridge is now back working as it should be so hopefully the fridge fairy fixed it in the night and judging by the empty wine bottles I think she may have helped herself to a glass or two...or was that me? Having a chill out day (no pun intended) before heading into Spain tomorrow and ready to face our next taxing problem whatever that may be? Happy whistling tune in background Spain huh? Good luck down there! Hope you have your Fruitcakes Gas Attack alarm and Roof mounted protection products in place! The way your luck is going you will need em!

We should be fine, there are loads of motorway parking aires around Barcelona we can use and feel safe in our beds.

It's safer in the city. Any of the housing estates on the outskirts will be fine.

I bet they are ok and safe.
If you end up somewhere dodgy just pretend to be a massive bad bastard gun wielding drug lord or somefink. Works for me!

Well the weather here in the Lot et Garonne (Southern France for those whose knowledge of French Geography was well summed up by De Gaulle "Non, Non, NON!") is terrible - it's like being in the Lake District in the rainy season, with the Lakes mainly being displayed on our lawn.....
and we are supposed to be getting 4+ m3 of ready mix delivered on Wednesday afternoon - when the forecast is for severe storms......
so that will have to be put off, which means I can't finish the swimming pool - might have to just put a ladder into one of the puddles and tell everyone to dive in..... (mud baths are good for you and in Dalaman, Turkey you pay a fortune to cover yourself in mud so maybe there is a marketing opportunity we are missing.....
Certainly at the moment and for the next 10 days the forecast here means wellies are essential summer wardrobe wear......
but I've got my Helly Hansen waterproofs so that should be OK for eating outside as long as we can find a way to waterproof the bread and keep it crusty......
any suggestions (other than moving) would be welcome.....

Instead of ready-mix get a dry mix and the rain can do the rest

I am not far away from you Dave near Poitiers. Come here to work helping a friend renovate an old house. We waited in Spain till the weather forecast for this area looked OK. Having just endured a weeks rain I am completely pissed off with the weather, though the stats say it's more or less normal. It has chucked it down most of today. Why anyone would move to live in an area where it rains so much beats me.

Then again you could empty his wine cellar in return which I believe is well stocked with St Emilion!

Ah, no good I have foresworn The Davil's Vamit. I am now a Free Presbyterian. I have seen The Light. Praise The Lord. No surrender. Navar, Navar, Navar. I am holding a secret protest at the pub on Saturday night.
What a friend we have in Jesus etc.
