Yeah, right. You just want to leave a monster gift in my cassette, ya bugger! The bike is now loaded and covered. I am drenched, the April showers are under way with a vengeance down here. Just having a quick bite before taking Madam for a walk. Still got clothes and food stuffs to go in. Did my pillock thing again. I'd left the EHU draped over the drivers mirror to remind me to unhook before shifting the van, but I still forgot. No damage fortunately. I am doing so many stoopid things lately, I am clearly stressed about my first big trip. It's all Barry's fault for organising it! So there. Tuggers I slip an old orange epaulet over the indicator stem whenever I'm on EHU as I am such a div at remembering stuff like that. The step buzzer wasn't working when we bought the van and I had to have a sign to remind me about putting them in before driving. Sorted the problem out by forgetting to put the sign up and then accidentally removed the steps on my gatepost! feking good fun this motorhome malarkey!

I have a checklist before leaving anywhere, but today I just had to move the van out onto the road to load the bike. Where the hell am I going to get an orange epaulette on a Sunday afternoon FFS? I know, I'll use one of Dusty's old collars. Just walked Miss Ellie and she's not filthy so no shower needed, Yay! Before I went out I checked all the van lights, one of the marker lights is on the fritz, will have a quick look after a cuppa. As for leaving, the plan is to get away tomorrow sometime. Need to do a little shopping and give Ellie a good walk so she's not too active in the van,so may be midday before I leave. No idea yet where I'm going to stop, maybe look in the C&CC book or at Britstops. Shit, here comes the bloody rain again, doesn't seem to stop for more than 5 minutes. Wonder how the ground is up at Croft.

When are you leaving and where are you off first? In about 3 months by the sounds of it and he'll get as far as the end of the road when he'll have to stop to lock the fridge door which he'll have forgotten to lock. I'll give him 3 streets away before he'll have to go back and check he hasnt left his iron on

Sorry to be serious for a very brief moment, but need to ask a question.
I haven't deployed my awning since I've had the van. Does one need guy ropes and pegs to support the legs? Ta for advice.
I'm assuming it may be needed to keep the rain off rather than the sun!

Hello Tuggers, your favourite Gnome is back on line and ensconced behind a Pub CS near Stratford upon Avon. We will be here until Tuesday lunchtime then heading West. Did you get my mobile number?

I'm assuming it may be needed to keep the rain off rather than the sun! We can peg our awning legs but we dont have to. We find it easier and quieter to wind the awning back in at night, we left it out one night and the wind picked up so we were outside winding it in at 3am!

Woohoo, just spoke to the gnome, he's booked me a toadstool for tomorrow night. Make sure you go to the cashpoint before I arrive, Gnomey, dashed nice of you to offer to buy me a meal! Cheeky bugger just accused me of sounding sensible! How rude is that?

Spoke to Tuggy.
I was worried at first but the Pub Landlord has loaned me his 12 Bore, so I feel more comfortable about Tuggy arriving now. Also ordered Land Mines on overnight delivery.

That won't help you. I shall enter the premises via the bar (in fact I may just stop there) heavily disguised as a tall slim good looking lad.I shall creep up behind you and scare you out of your flip flops with a "Way aye, pet"!

Car and van are both washed, still a few black streaks but fuckit. Fritzed light fixed. Beer to load and a few pairs of skiddies and I think that should be it for tonight. Bloody dog is charging round the lounge at 90 mph, she'll disappear up her own arse in a minute! Arrrggghhhhhh!

I got you booked in for tomorrow. The normal price is £10 but they are charging double when they found out who you are. I have had to put a £50 deposit for 'breakages' behind the Bar as they have had sailors in the place before.
The good news is that the wife has saved some stale bread which will be loaded with lard, so that you can join us for a slap up meal tomorrow teatime. This will be a good foretaste of your North East introduction to Croft.
