So sorry to hear this Jan, you have some good friends around you and us fruitcakes to use as a sounding board. I would reinforce the fact that Hans recognised you and let you do the things he is reluctant to let the nurses do. He must be so frustrated knowing that you are having to do all the running around. Baz hit the nail on the head when he records mended speaking to your GP, this hasn’t been a few days set back this has been long enough to take a toll on your health and you need to be fighting fit to help Hans when he gets home. Worry and sleepless nights are going to be a strain on your well being. Hans has a professional team looking after his needs you only have yourself (and Motley). Please make sure that you are getting any help you need. X

Well said Terry. Spare a thought for your own health and sanity once in while. Having to put up with fruitcakes needs a health warning in itself ! X

Heike went home yesterday, poor girl it took 9 hours to get home because of all the road works and hold ups on the motorway. She has announced she will be coming again on the 28th of September for a week. Today they have given him the dialysis port, well Wolfgang said they were doing it this afternoon when I phoned at ´high noon´ so I assume its done. He was very active again yesterday so had to be sedated yet again, I will have a talk with Wolfgang tomorrow to see if he can put light on the reason why this keeps happening. He is not sure if Hans will be going this week to Waren, he is having 72 hours on the dialysis machine because of the water he is retaining. I will see Hans tomorrow afternoon.

Oh Milly. Words cannot express how sorry we both feel to hear this tragic news. For once I am lost for words. After such a long fight as well. I Cannot begin to imagine how you must feel. Nothing anyone can say now is going to make this terrible shock any better but please know you are not alone.
It goes without saying but if there is anything we can do then please say. So very very sorry.

Oh Crikey Milly, that's the worst possible news. We all feel for you at this sad time. Heartfelt condolences from Frances and myself. We feel as though we knew him, though we never met him. He was a fighter.

Jan, we're both so, so sorry to hear that dreadful news. We'd been waiting for the news that he was finally coming home to you and now this. We can only imagine how you're feeling, but if a chat or a rant would help you, feel free.
I remember the obvious love you had for each other, together with your dogs and cats, Hans' inventive skills and so much more you've told us over the years. I knew Hans, or it seemed like it.
Our deepest and most sincere condolences to you, Jan. Thinking of you and of Hans. With love. Barry & Maggie x

Jan we are so sorry for your loss, I think it is our loss as well as we all so wanted Hans to to pull through and come hone. I have no words of encouragement as I know you will be devastated. and nothing any of us can say will make it easier. This is something we all dread and it hits home when it is someone we all care about. Xxx

It´s a pity he didn´t know just how many people were routing for him. I think the last 8 weeks have been preparing me for this day. I have Heike to talk to on WhatsApp and Marion, Ericks wife has taken the day off tomorrow to take me to the hospital.

Heike and I both had the thought that had he survived this ordeal he would not have liked the life he would have had and Guido has just confirmed that for us. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
My thoughts are with You!!! May he have a good journey to a better place, where all his machines are in perfect shape!!!
Big hug, Janet. Have a Gin and Tonic. Maybe a pill for sleep.
I am so sorry for You! But also sure, it will spare You a LOT of trouble, for sure. this sentence
I send You all energy I have!
Love G

I have Heike to talk to on WhatsApp and Marion, Ericks wife has taken the day off tomorrow to take me to the hospital. I seem to remember he talked to you once about talking to your "family" meaning (sadly) us bunch of reprobates. I would like to think he knew we would be routing for him. I imagine he did. I never got to speak to Hans but I felt through you like I knew him and both of us remember how he helped us when Michelle fell ill with kidney stones in southern Germany. We were so grateful for that support. X
