Oh dear Milly, I am so sad to hear the bad news. I am sure 2 old engineers like Hans and me would have got on well if I had met him.
My thoughts go out to you tonight and I am sure that all of us will do whatever we can to help and support you.
God bless.

Guido has been honest throughout. There is a big difference between living and being alive. Probably no comfort at the moment but as you and Heike discussed it seems like the quality of Hans future was not going to be so good. Don't try and be brave, you have the right to be upset and angry. Go stand in the field and scream at the sky but don't bottle it up, it has to be released. X

Its been a long day and I am kaput. Marion was marvellous, she just took over and did everything, I couldn´t have done it without her, I´d probably need a paid interpreter, more tomorrow. XXXX

Thank you all for sticking with me. I had a call last night from someone you all know with the announcement he is crossing the channel early hours of Sunday and will be here to help me sort things out on Wednesday staying for 2 weeks and no argument.😊 With a sleeping tablet Wolfgang gave me I had the best nights sleep I have had for years except 3 times woken up with leg cramp in both legs, I think I would have slept through if that hadn't happened. Guido sent me his phone number and said call him when I want which I will do. I will get round to all the offers of chats eventually, but at the moment I am fine until someone shows sympathy or I have to talk about it. It's a brand new cut that needs time to heel. Some of you may be shocked when I say I have no more to do with the arrangements, We talked about what the other should do whoever died first and I am honouring his wish, no funerel, the undertaker takes care of everything I will not be there I will be at home where he is everywhere around me. In this country the law says there must be an urn for ashes, he would have preferred to just have them thrown to the air but that's not allowed. The urn must either be buried at the cemetery costing 250€ or in a special place in the forest for 750€ or thrown out to sea, he didn't like the seaside and he didn't like wasting money so guess where the urn goes all taken care of by the undertaker. This means his wish will be carried out in the end, and I hope whoever takes care of my arrangements when the time comes will do the same for me. No doubt I have a busy day ahead, nobody in the village knows yet, but when they do I think I'll be out 😃. Have to inform the dhss , banks and insurance company, luckily the insurance bloke is a very helpful chap. The undertaker takes care of translating our marriage certificate to German, Passport and birth certificate are German.

It probably does sound strange to most in the UK Milly but I can see some plus points. The good thing is you discussed it and are following Hans wishes. As you say he is there with you, everywhere and always will be, thats what is important now. Great news that the mad Scotsman is coming to look after you. Sent you an email last night by the way.

Jan, Phill's Mam was determined that undertakers weren't to have anything to do with her when she died, she didnt want a funeral and was not going into a wooden box, luckily my Sister in Law was a palliative care nurse so when the time came she dressed her and put her in a wicker coffin with a few of her favourite photo's and trinkets, her Husband and Sons drove her to the crematorium in my Brother in Law's T4 van where they said a quiet goodbye, no fuss.
You can say farewell in your own way and make it special for you and Hans xx
I'm glad to hear Blu is on his way to see you and look after you, it's very kind of him and I'm sure it'll be a real blessing for you

"Please, don't worry so much. Because in the end, none of us have very long on this Earth. Life is fleeting. And if you're ever distressed, cast your eyes to the summer sky when the stars are strung across the velvety night. And when a shooting star streaks through the blackness, turning night into day... make a wish and think of me.
Make your life spectacular.
I know I did."
RIP Hans 006

How do I cancel his pension? Will I then also have a widows pension? Never thought of any of that.

This past 15 months has been going through my mind, what a terrible time Hans has had, the pain from the urine retention, the catheter for a whole year with numerous bladder infections, The least trouble he had was his hip replacement. His heart trouble and pace maker, the prostate operation and all the trouble he had afterwards, his shortness of breath and unable to do anything too physical, his aching legs preventing him from walking far, his loss of weight and gastroenteritis when he had to be hospitalised, the migraines. Discovering he had a thrombopenea a blood disorder that could eventually developed in Leukaemia. My god how much he has suffered and now he is free of all that. He was a brave man, there will never be another like him.
